Center Sam Gagner exhibited a new, swashbuckling kind of move to score an important goal in the Edmonton Oilers' 3-2 shootout triumph over the visiting Phoenix Coyotes on Saturday.

Gagner's move was (Pavel) Datsyukian, the kind of sleight of hand the Detroit center routinely pulls off. He had Phoenix goalie Mike Smith going east, then west, turning him into a six-foot-four, 230-pound pretzel, before ho-humming a shot into the empty net. "Sam had me leaning the wrong way and I was sitting on the bench," kidded Oiler Ryan Smyth.
