Lundqvist played with an isolated MCL sprain during Team Sweden's gold-medal clinching victory at the 2017 IIHF World Championship, Newsday's Steve Zipay reports.

EDGE Analysis

Lundqvist's knee injury isn't expected to interfere with his offseason training regimen, so this news shouldn't have any impact on his fantasy draft stock heading into the 2017-18 campaign. The Swedish backstop was fantastic at the World Championship, registering a .945 and 1.31 GAA in five appearances.

Lundqvist and Team Sweden won the gold medal at the just-concluded 2017 IIHF World Championship.

EDGE Analysis

There was a scary moment during the celebration when young Leafs star William Nylander leapt into Lundqvist's arms and almost knocked him into a goalpost, but all's well that ends well. After a disappointing end to the Rangers' postseason run, King Henrik probably needed the morale boost of this tournament victory. The long-time goaltending star is coming off his worst season in the NHL (2.74 GAA, .910 save percentage), but he didn't look washed up in the playoffs or international play. It's not inconceivable that he'll bounce back with a better performance next season, but we can no longer expect him to be the elite Lundqvist of old.

Lundqvist will join Team Sweden at the 2017 IIHF World Championship, Jim Cerny of Yahoo Sports reports.

EDGE Analysis

Lundqvist's NHL campaign once again ended in disappointment in 2016-17, as the Rangers were ultimately eliminated by the Senators in six games in the Eastern Conference semifinals. The 35-year-old netminder will now head overseas in hopes of washing the taste of defeat out of his mouth by helping his native Sweden take home gold in this year's IIHF World Championship.

Lundqvist saved just 22 of 25 shots during Tuesday's Game 6 loss to the Senators.

EDGE Analysis

There were flashes of brilliance from Lundqvist throughout the playoffs, and he allowed two goals or fewer in six of 12 games. However, he needed more timely saves in the final two games of the series, as Ottawa scored eight goals on 62 shots (.871 save percentage and 3.84 GAA). Lundqvist is also coming off the worst regular season of his career and has shown statistical decline in consecutive years. There could be a slight bounce-back next year, but Lundqvist is also entering his age-35 season behind a shaky defense corps.

Lundqvist will start between the pipes in Tuesday's Game 6 against the Senators, Justin Tasch of the New York Daily News reports.

EDGE Analysis

Lundqvist was shaky in Saturday's Game 5 loss, surrendering five goals on 37 shots en route to a 5-4 overtime defeat. Hank and the Rangers will now return home for Tuesday's must-win Game 6, and he's been excellent while playing in the Garden this series, posting a superb 1.00 GAA and .960 in back-to-back victories. Lundqvist will likely need to be similarly sharp in Game 6 to help prop up his team's struggling defense and force a Game 7.

Lundqvist struggled Saturday, allowing five goals on 37 shots in a 5-4 overtime loss to Ottawa.

EDGE Analysis

King Henrik's crown slipped twice in regulation -- he surrendered a 2-0 lead in the first and a 4-3 lead in the third. The tying goal came with 1:26 remaining. Lundqvist's game has been outstanding at home and queasy on the road this series, so going home to Madison Square for Game 6 may be a magic elixir once again.

Lundqvist will cover the crease against the Senators on Saturday for Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, Brett Cyrgalis of the New York Post reports.

EDGE Analysis

The King unsurprisingly gets the road start with the series tied up, 2-2. Interestingly enough, the Rangers have shrunk their totals for shots allowed in each subsequent game against the Senators -- certainly this has been a welcomed trend for Lundqvist after seeing 43 shots and stopping 41 in the series-opening loss. Perhaps the most glaring concern is that Hank's wins this series both took place in New York, and the next game is back in enemy territory. At any rate, fans of the Blueshirts will be hoping that star defenseman Erik Karlsson, who's been playing through a heel injury, remains quiet.

Lundqvist stopped 22 of 23 shots in Friday's Game 4 win over the Senators.

EDGE Analysis

Lundqvist looked as if he was going to finish with a shutout, but a late Kyle Turris goal ruined his bid. The veteran goaltender has been sensational in back-to-back outings, helping the Rangers rally from a 2-0 series deficit against the Senators. The King is sporting a ridiculous .937 save percentage this postseason and has arguably been the best goaltender of the playoffs. The Rangers currently have all the momentum in the series, so given the way Lundqvist is playing right now, it's very possible his team keeps rolling en route to another Conference Finals appearance.

Lundqvist will defend the cage against the Senators on Thursday, Steve Zipay of Newsday reports.

EDGE Analysis

Lundqvist bounced back from a disastrous Game 2 in which he gave up six goals -- including the overtime winner -- to stop 26 of 27 shots on goal in Tuesday's 4-1 victory. When he is on his game, the netminder is nearly unbeatable but over the years as shown he can be rattled if you clog the crease.

Lundqvist stopped 26 of 27 shots en route to a 4-1 victory in Tuesday's Game 3 against Ottawa.

EDGE Analysis

This was a relatively easy one for the King, and he and his teammates needed it, as they entered with a 2-0 series deficit. Mats Zuccarello put the Rangers on the board early, while Lundqvist stifled the Senators other than a late-second-period tally by Jean-Gabriel Pageau. The Swedish veteran owns a 2.04 GAA and .935 save percentage in these playoffs; when he's lost, it's typically been his offense's (and defense's) shortcomings rather than his own to blame. We'll surely see him in net again as the Rangers try to even the series in Thursday's Game 4.
