Nyquist scored two goals, added an assists and recorded a plus-4 rating during Tuesday's 5-1 drubbing of the Jets.

EDGE Analysis

The Swede had gone 22 games since his last multi-point showing and recorded just four goals and five assists during the underwhelming stretch. Nyquist is a talented scorer who's capable of generating better numbers, but for whatever reason, the results just haven't been there consistently enough to make him a viable fantasy option outside of deep settings this year. However, there's potential this offensive outburst kick-starts a strong run for Nyquist. At worst, he's a player to monitor.

Nyquist picked up a power-play assist in Sunday's 4-3 overtime home loss to the Avalanche.

EDGE Analysis

Gus racked up 28 and 27 goals, respectively, between seasons 2013-15, but he's since learned how to be a more effective passer. He is coming off a 2016-17 campaign in which he dished on a career-high 36 scoring plays, and has started this hockey year out with a modest four apples through 21 games. On the downside, Nyquist has just two man-advantage points despite averaging 2:17 of ice time in that special teams situation.

Nyquist delivered an even-strength goal in Wednesday's 8-2 triumph over the Flames at home.

EDGE Analysis

This helped Nyquist snap a three-game pointless drought, but his fantasy owners can't be blamed for wanting more. After all, Detroit went 4-for-6 with the man advantage, despite the Swede failing to factor into those plays. Nyquist now has six goals through 19 games, albeit with only three assists and a minus-5 rating.

Nyquist hasn't recorded a point in the past three games since toughing out a lower-body injury.

EDGE Analysis

Gus will look to get back on track against the visiting Flames on Wednesday evening. He's been the subject of recent trade rumors, but if GM Ken Holland has received serious offers on the scoring winger, he's done a fine job keeping that information close to the vest. Nyquist's at least a depreciating asset in fantasy hockey, having recorded only eight points (five goals, three assists) along with a minus-6 rating through 18 games. It's probably safe to park him on your bench until he starts showing signs of turning it around.

Nyquist will play Monday against Vancouver, Ted Kulfan of The Detroit News reports.

EDGE Analysis

Nyquist was forced out of Sunday's tilt early with a lower body injury, but was able to practice Monday morning and the minor ailment won't force him to miss a game. The 28-year-old has been especially hot of late notching three goals in his last four games, and should resume his duties on the first forward line and the first power-play unit.

Nyquist (lower body) is a game-time decision for Monday's game against the Canucks.

EDGE Analysis

Nyquist had to leave Detroit's game Sunday with this injury, but he did participate in practice Monday. They certainly want Nyquist to be able to give it a go, but we'll all have to wait for just before the puck drops to find out if he's able to play.

Nyquist suffered a lower body injury and did not return to Sunday's contest against the Oilers, according to Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press.

EDGE Analysis

Nyquist collided with Edmonton's Eric Gryba in the first period and appeared to have injured his knee. The extent of the injury -- and Nyquist's availability for Monday's game against Vancouver -- are still unclear.

Nyquist was brilliant in Saturday's 3-2 shootout win over host Florida, scoring both the game-tying goal and the dagger in the final sequence.

EDGE Analysis

Gus was determined to help the Wings bust out of their six-game losing streak. His regulation marker was absolutely stunning, as he went end-to-end weaving past several defenders and then beat James Reimer upon scooping up his own rebound. Then, the Swede worked his magic in the shootout. He's averaging a half-point per game on the young season, but it's tough to ignore Nyquist's lackluster own-zone production which has been magnified by his minus-6 rating through 12 games.

Nyquist only has points in two of 10 games this season.

EDGE Analysis

The Swede deserves some of the blame for Detroit's active five-game losing streak, but he's still firing the puck at the cage quite often -- 18 shots on goal over the last five contests, to be exact. Nyquist tends to be rather streaky on a game-to-game basis, but he typically falls in the neighborhood of 45 points each season.

Nyquist scored a pair of goals and added an assist in a 6-3 victory against the Golden Knights on Friday night.

EDGE Analysis

Nyquist scored the first goal of the game and then assisted the game-tying score towards the start of the third period. After Frans Nielsen scored, Nyquist added an insurance marker in the third too. These were his first three points of the young season, but it's still a good start for a star looking to bounce back from a 12-goal season a year ago. Nyquist should score closer to 20 goals this season, as long as he can improve upon the career-low 7.3 shooting percentage he posted in 2016-17.
