Campbell has passed through waivers unclaimed and his contract has been officially terminated by the Blue Jackets, Aaron Portzline of The Columbus Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Campbell refused to accept an assignment to the AHL and has finally been granted release after a long standoff. He's now free to sign with other clubs, should he receive interest.

Campbell was placed on unconditional waivers Saturday, Aaron Portzline reports.
EDGE Analysis
Campbell refuses to report to AHL Cleveland, as he's said in the past that he doesn't want to take a spot away from a young prospect. That speaks volumes about the veteran pivot's character, but rules are rules, and the nobleman will be bought out of his contract to become an unrestricted free agent; assuming he clears waivers, of course.

Campbell was suspended by the Blue Jackets on Saturday for failing to report to AHL Cleveland, Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Campbell did not report to the minor-league club after clearing waivers Saturday and as a result, he'll be temporarily restricted from competitive action until his dispute is resolved. The 32-year-old center will have to forfeit his $1.3 million salary this season for failing to come to the Monsters.

While Campbell has cleared waivers with the purpose of being reassigned to AHL Cleveland, the veteran center will not report to the minor-league club, Aaron Portzline of The Columbus Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
As noted in the report, this is not a sign of malcontent from Campbell -- it's quite the contrary, as the 32-year-old's agent said, "He was a young player at one point in time, and older players didn't come in and take his position away. He doesn't want to do that." Campbell will have to forfeit $1.3 million in salary if he officially refuses to report to the minors, and a suspension could be forthcoming. Either way, he should be off the radar in most fantasy circles.

Campbell was placed on waivers for reassignment Monday, Aaron Portzline of The Columbus Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Campbell played all 82 games for the Blue Jackets last season, but at 32 years old, may have lost a step and was beat out for a spot by Matt Calvert and Scott Hartnell. The veteran, who hasn't played in the minors since 2006, will be reassigned to the defending Calder Cup Champions, AHL Cleveland unless claimed off the waiver wire.

Campbell provided some unlikely scoring Friday, potting a goal and adding a helper in a 3-2 loss to the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
The fourth-liner exploded -- by his standards -- offensively in this one, picking up his seventh and eighth points of the season. With an average ice time of less than 11 minutes a night and a minus-10 rating, Campbell won't be fantasy relevant any time soon -- even if your league counts PIM, of which he has 74.

Campbell finished the preseason with one goal in four games.
EDGE Analysis
As the center on the Blue Jackets fourth line, Campbell isn't going to supply much in the way of fantasy stats, but he'll have an important checking role on a team with playoff aspirations.

Campbell signed a two-year contract with the Blue Jackets on Wednesday. Campbell is expected to be installed as the Blue Jackets' fourth-line center, a role he occupied with the Bruins over the last few seasons. As is typical with most checking line players, don't expect to see much offense from Campbell, who registered just 12 points in 70 games in 2014-15, his lowest output in eight years.

The Bruins don't plan to re-sign Campbell, csnne.com reports. Campbell, who notched six goals and 12 points to go along with a plus-1 rating in 70 games for the B's this past season, should catch on elsewhere as a depth forward, but his departure (along with that of Daniel Paille) signals a changing of the guard of the Bruins' fourth line, which once included Campbell, Paille and Shawn Thornton, who is now with Florida.

Campbell was a healthy scratch for three of the Bruins' final four games of the 2014-15 season, the Boston Herald reports. Along with long-time linemate Daniel Paille, Campbell is slated to become a free agent this offseason and there's a decent chance neither will be back with the team next season. The gritty Campbell finished up the 2014-15 campaign with six goals and 12 points to go along with 45 PIM in 70 games for the Bruins.
