Smith can be picked up in Wednesday's expansion draft.

EDGE Analysis

The 27-year-old fell one point short of the 30-point mark, which would've been the fourth consecutive season. With a lot of young talent arriving in the Music City, Smith saw a drop off in playing time, and he didn't earn a consistent power-play spot. It seems like he is still a high-caliber player who just didn't capitalize this season. Regardless, It is a lot more likely that Vegas picks up fellow forward, James Neal, who has 99 points over the past two seasons.

Smith notched a primary assist in Game 4 against Pittsburgh on Monday.

EDGE Analysis

After missing most of the first three series, Smith has played in all four games of the Stanley Cup Finals. He was able to light the lamp in Game 3 with a breakaway goal, and his primary assist in Game 4 sparked the scoring Monday night. At the very least, Smith has been doing his part in all parts of the game, recording a plus-2 rating, six hits, and 11 shots on goal this series, while averaging 12:40 of ice time.

Smith (undisclosed) should return in Game 1 against Pittsburgh, Arpon Basu of NHL.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

According to head coach Peter Laviolette said all players will be available for the Stanley Cup Finals, which includes Smith and injured teammate Mike Fischer. Smith only notched 29 points in 78 regular season games, so don't look toward him for much fantasy production.

Smith (undisclosed) was not in the lineup for Game 6 against Anaheim on Monday.

EDGE Analysis

The veteran forward participated in full at morning skate early in the day but wasn't able to play after subbing in on a few line rushes during pregame warmups. If the Predators emerge victorious in Game 6 and advance to the Stanley Cup Final, the extra rest could be enough to get the 27-year-old back on the ice. If Anaheim prevails, it'll be interesting to see if Smith is able to return for Game 7 on Wednesday.

Smith (undisclosed) was a full participant at Monday's game-day practice and could be available against Anaheim, Robby Stanley of NHL.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Even if Smith is unable to give it a go for Game 6, practicing in full should be taken as a good sign that he is nearing a return and could be action sooner rather than later. The Preds have been ravaged by injuries of during the playoffs -- including Mike Fisher (undisclosed), Ryan Johansen (thigh) and Kevin Fiala (leg) -- so getting back the 27-year-old Smith would be a real shot in the arm for Nashville regardless of whether that happens Monday or in a potential Game 7.

Smith (undisclosed) was absent from warmups Saturday in Anaheim, Thomas Willis of NHL.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Smith will now miss his 10th of the Preds last 11 games. It was speculated he may draw into the lineup because of a hobbled offense in Nashville, but he'll continue to sit out. Smith's next opportunity to see ice time will be Tuesday at home.

Smith (undisclosed) will miss Saturday's Game 5 against the Ducks.

EDGE Analysis

Smith has missed almost the entire playoffs, and this entire series, so this isn't that surprising. With both Ryan Johansen and Mike Fisher out, the Predators have more pressing concerns than the continued absence of Smith.

Smith (undisclosed) did not take part in pregame warmups and, thus, will not play Thursday's Game 4 against the Ducks.

EDGE Analysis

Smith has now missed 10 of the last 11 contests with his mystery ailment, but it appears that he could finally be nearing a return, as he was able to participate in Thursday's morning skate. With Harry Zolnierczyk likely serving as a healthy scratch for Game 4, P.A. Parenteau is slated to draw into the lineup.

Smith (undisclosed) won't be in the lineup for Tuesday's Game 3 against the Ducks, Kristopher Martel of FOX Sports Tennessee reports.

EDGE Analysis

Smith will miss a third consecutive contest, but he took part in an extended on-ice session Tuesday morning, which would seem to suggest he's likely nearing a return to game action. The Wisconsin native will have to wait until Thursday's Game 4 for his next chance to slot back into Nashville's lineup.

Smith (undisclosed) stayed on the ice long after morning skate Tuesday, NHL.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

The Predators have yet to make an official determination on Smith's readiness for Game 3 on Tuesday evening, but one would think that the winger staying on the ice so late points to him sitting out for the third straight contest and the ninth time in the past 10 games. Only Viktor Arvidsson has had a better individual Corsi rating per 60 minutes (18.89) than Smith (17.53) this season, which proves that he's a tremendous possession player and sorely needed against a Ducks team that have ranked No. 1 in the dot.
