Coach Joel Quenneville is "very pleased" with Franson, who should start playing more going forward, Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

EDGE Analysis

Franson has frequently been a healthy scratch this season, but he's played extremely well when he's been inserted into the lineup, notching three assists while posting a plus-3 rating in four games. The 30-year-old blueliner is currently skating with Duncan Keith on the Blackhawks' top pairing, making him worth a look in deeper fantasy leagues.

Franson agreed to terms on a one-year deal with Chicago on Wednesday.

EDGE Analysis

Franson earned his way into this contract while on a professional tryout agreement during training camp. The towering blueliner logged 68 games for the Sabres last season in which he averaged 18:29 of ice time and compiled three goals, 16 assists and 87 hits. The 30-year-old will likely have to stave off Michal Rozsival (concussion) for ice time throughout the season, but should at least factor into coach Joel Quenneville's game-day roster decisions.

Franson will join the Blackhawks for training camp on a professional tryout agreement, Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

EDGE Analysis

Franson could be a great veteran addition to a Chicago blue-line corps that is extremely green heading into the 2017-18 campaign, but he won't be a viable fantasy option this season, even if he's able to land a deal with the Blackhawks. The 30-year-old rearguard has failed to crack the 20-point mark in each of the last two seasons, so he doesn't present the offensive upside necessary to be a desirable fantasy asset at this stage in his career.

Franson has been exposed to the Vegas expansion draft, theScore reports.

EDGE Analysis

The soon-to-be 30-year-old has failed to turn many heads in his first two seasons in Buffalo, posting totals of 17 and 19 points. Franson does, however, have four seasons of between 29 and 36 points under his belt (Nashville and Toronto), so it's conceivable that he could get back to the 30-plus point plateau -- which is no small feat for a defenseman -- in the right situation. It's also worth noting that he'll be an unrestricted free agent come July, so if Vegas wishes to select him in the expansion draft on June 21, it'll get three days of exclusive negotiating rights to try to bang out a deal before his UFA status kicks in.

Franson (upper body) will rejoin the lineup Monday against the Maple Leafs, Chris Johnston of Sportsnet reports.

EDGE Analysis

Franson has finally returned to full health after missing each of the last six contests due to the upper-body issue. The blueliner does present some appeal in daily formats, but doesn't produce enough to be worthy of ownership in the vast majority of season-long formats. He should slot back into the pairings Monday, though it's unclear who will come out in his place at this point.

Franson (upper body) will not dress for Sunday's game against the Islanders.

EDGE Analysis

Franson returned to practice Thursday, but will miss at least one more contest due to the upper body issue. The blueliner provides a bit of offense for the club (19 points in 65 games), but not enough to be worthy of fantasy ownership in the vast majority of leagues. His next chance to rejoin the action comes Monday, but the team should update his status again when he's healthy and ready to play.

Franson (upper body) was back on the ice Thursday, John Vogl of The Buffalo News reports.

EDGE Analysis

Franson has missed five games due to injury, and looks like he'll be ready to play Sunday against the Islanders after a long four-day break. The veteran rearguard has just 19 points in 65 games this season, and just two points on the power play, a paltry total for a guy who was signed to bolster Buffalo's special teams. He's in the final year of a two-year contract and is unlikely to be retained by the team given his mediocre production and injury history. He has minimal value in most fantasy leagues.

Franson (undisclosed) is not in the lineup for Tuesday night's game in Columbus.

EDGE Analysis

Franson misses his fifth consecutive contest and the team has not established any sort of timetable for his return as of yet. Brady Austin could continue to see extended looks while Franson and Taylor Fedun (undisclosed) remain sidelined.

Franson (undisclosed) will not return to the lineup against Florida on Monday.

EDGE Analysis

Franson will miss his fourth consecutive outings versus the Panthers as he continues to work his way back from this undisclosed ailment. With the Sabres' kicking off a back-to-back Monday, the blueliner should probably be considered questionable at best to suit up for Tuesday's clash in Columbus.

EDGE Analysis

That makes three games missed for Franson with this undisclosed issue. With his continued absence, Brady Austin is in the lineup. Franson's next chance to return is Monday.
