Porter was cut by the Blues on Monday, ending his tryout.

EDGE Analysis

Porter was hoping to complete a return to St. Louis after spending the 2015-16 campaign with the Wild, but was unable to secure a permanent deal. Given the depth along the left side, the 32-year-old was always a long shot for a spot on the roster. Given his minimal offensive production, fantasy owners are unlikely to be impacted by this move.

Porter inked a professional tryout agreement with St. Louis on Monday.

EDGE Analysis

Porter is likely a long shot to make the roster as he has never reached the 10-point mark in any season during his career and the Blues brought in five other player on PTOs. In terms of fantasy value, at best the winger could tally hits, as he notched 157 in 61 contests for the Wild last season, but otherwise is extremely limited in what he can offer.

Porter scored a goal in Monday's 5-3 win over the Stars in Game 3.

EDGE Analysis

An unlikely source of offense, Porter injected life into the Wild (and the Xcel Energy Center) with the first of four unanswered goals after Patrick Sharp struck for a pair of tallies in the game's first five minutes. With just seven points in 61 games and an average ice time of 9:38 this season, it'd be a stretch to expect much more of this from the 31-year-old, but the postseason is a time of improbable heroes and Porter was just that Monday.

The Wild placed Porter on waivers Saturday, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports.

EDGE Analysis

Teams across the league are examining their rosters from top to bottom with the trade deadline looming, and Porter could be taken into account as a versatile winger who's helpful in shorthanded situations. The 31-year-old had been used sparingly with the Wild, averaging 9:46 of ice time in 51 games this season.

Porter tallied a goal on two shots and two hits in just 8:16 of ice time during a 4-1 loss to the Islanders on Tuesday.

EDGE Analysis

After being a healthy scratch in eight of the last nine games, Porter returned to the lineup to make the most of his minuscule amount of ice time on Tuesday. The goal was just the 31-year-old's fourth in 49 games played this season. While he doesn't add much in terms of offense, he does have 124 hits on the season, giving him some value in much deeper leagues.

Porter was a healthy scratch in Monday's win over Vancouver. He's been a healthy scratch in five of the last six games.

EDGE Analysis

After one game, the coaching switch to John Torchetti from Mike Yeo hasn't changed Porter's fortunes. However, the Wild's lines may be in flux while Torchetti learns more about his new players.

Porter was a healthy scratch in Saturday's loss to Boston. He's been a healthy scratch in four of the last five games.

EDGE Analysis

Porter had fallen out of favor with head coach Mike Yeo, so perhaps he'll get another look with Yeo fired and new head coach John Torchetti taking over.

Porter was a healthy scratch in Saturday's win over Dallas.

EDGE Analysis

It was the first time all season he's been a healthy scratch, so this was likely just a day off.

Porter (lower body) had four hits in ten minutes of ice time in Saturday's loss to Pittsburgh.

EDGE Analysis

Porter had just one goal and no assists in his last ten games as he's mostly used on a checking line. He has 30 hits in his last ten games, however.

Porter is day to day with a lower body injury, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

EDGE Analysis

Porter sat out the Wild's last game before a three-day Christmas break, so he could return with the extended rest.
