Anisimov was released from his professional tryout offer with the Avalanche on Friday, Mike Chambers of The Denver Post reports.

EDGE Analysis

Anisimov was decent in limited action with the Senators last season, picking up two goals and nine points in 19 contests, but he was nonetheless unable to secure a contract with the stacked Avalanche during training camp. If Anisimov is unable to land a contract with another NHL team, he may opt to head overseas to continue his playing career.

Anisimov will attend the Avalanche's training camp on a professional tryout contract, per CapFriendly.

EDGE Analysis

The 33-year-old forward was limited to just nine points in 19 games last season with the Senators. Anisimov was rumored to be considering a KHL deal earlier in the summer, but he'll now try to win an NHL job with the Avalanche, who are in need of bottom-six depth after the departures of Brandon Saad and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare this offseason.

Anisimov scored nine points in 20 games for Ottawa, with the majority coming on helpers.

EDGE Analysis

Anisimov had a cap hit of $4.5 million in 2020-21, making it unlikely the Senators will ask him back unless they need to get to the salary floor. Anisimov has been the subject of KHL rumors, but agent Todd Diamond has said Anisimov's plan remains to play in the NHL in 2021-22. If he does stay in North America, a move elsewhere could get his assist numbers back to the point where he could be a decent contributor as a cheap option in daily leagues.

Anisimov collected three assists and four shots with a plus-3 rating in Saturday's 6-3 win over Montreal.

EDGE Analysis

That performance came out of nowhere. Anisimov, just promoted from the taxi squad Friday, put together his first multi-point game of the season with assists on a pair of Evgenii Dadonov goals and a single tally by Alex Formenton. The 32-year-old Anisimov had just two goals and two assists in 14 games entering the night and was in the lineup for the first time since March 10.

Anisimov was promoted to Ottawa's active roster Friday.

EDGE Analysis

Anisimov hasn't cracked the Senators' lineup since March 10. He's picked up four points in 14 games this campaign.

Anisimov was assigned to Ottawa's taxi squad Thursday.

EDGE Analysis

Anisimov hasn't cracked the Senators' lineup since March 10 against the Oilers. He's picked up four points through 14 NHL appearances this year.

Anisimov was placed on waivers by the Senators on Monday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

EDGE Analysis

Anisimov missed the last seven games due to an upper-body injury. He was activated from injured reserve Sunday. The 32-year-old produced four points through 14 games before that injury. He likely won't be claimed on waivers because he carries a $4.55 million cap hit, but he'll be eligible for the taxi squad once he clears.

Anisimov (upper body) was removed from injured reserve Sunday, according to CapFriendly.

EDGE Analysis

Anisimov has missed the last seven games with his upper-body issue but was able to return to practice Sunday. The 32-year-old forward has four points and a minus-3 rating through 14 games this season. He's on track to suit up Thursday against Montreal.

Anisimov (upper body) practiced with the team Sunday, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.

EDGE Analysis

Anisimov skated with the extras during line rushes, but he's certainly making progress toward a return. The 32-year-old's next chance to play is Tuesday against the Canadiens. Outside of deeper fantasy formats, fantasy managers shouldn't be monitoring Anisimov too closely, as he has produced just four points and 19 shots on net through 14 games this year.

Anisimov (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Monday, per the NHL's official media site.

EDGE Analysis

Anisimov has missed the last four games, so he's eligible to return at any point. The 32-year-old has posted four points through 14 games this year.
