Welker stated there's "a small percentage" he will play again, the Miami Herald reports.

Welker has served as a voluntary coach during part of the Dolphins' offseason program, but the Dolphins have been adamant they do not intend to sign Welker as a player. Last month, head coach Adam Gase declared that Welker is always welcome back in a "pseudo coaching-type" role, however. Ultimately, there just doesn't appear to be a market for the 35-year-old at this point in time, and although he won't be donning a Dolphin jersey seemingly ever again, Welker will forever live on in Miami lore as becoming one of the only players in NFL history to attempt a kickoff, extra point and field goal, return both a kickoff and punt, and log a tackle, all in a single game (Oct. 10, 2004 versus New England, filling in for injured K Olindo Mare).

Welker finished an abbreviated campaign for St. Louis with 13 catches for 102 yards.

Welker's career was considered to possibly be over before St. Louis signed him in November. While he wasn't bad, he didn't seem to have the spark he once had as a PPR monster. If he wants to keep playing, he's likely to find a home somewhere next season, but his days of fantasy relevance are nearing their conclusion.

No matter who has been starting, the Rams' passing offense has been atrocious this season and that doesn't bode well for Welker. He has picked up a couple catches a week since joining St. Louis, but his days of being a PPR monster are long behind him.

This was about on average with how Welker has done over his first three weeks, as he has seven catches for 57 yards. He won't see enough targets to make much of a difference in fantasy terms.

Welker hasn't made much of an impact since joining the Rams, posting five catches for 45 yards. That has a lot to do with his quarterback situation, however, as Nick Foles and Case Keenum both had sub-par games in Welker's two weeks in the lineup. In this bad of a passing offense, receivers have minimal to no fantasy value.

Welker caught three of his six targets for 32 yards in his season debut Sunday against the Rams.

EDGE Analysis

The veteran was the second most frequently-tarageted Rams player in his first game, but his production was limited by his usage primarily on short passes. Welker could see his share of targets from week to week, and the Rams' impotent passing attack will limit his upside. A matchup against the porous Baltimore secondary is on tap in Week 11, but Welker is still far from a reliable fantasy asset at the moment.

Welker is expected to be active Sunday against the Ravens, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

EDGE Analysis

Welker just signed with the Rams this week, so while he has a strong track record in the NFL, he has barely had time to learn the playbook or even build a little chemistry with quarterback Nick Foles, so expectations should be tempered.
