Johnson is expected to serve as the Jets' feature back Sunday against the Patriots with both Frank Gore (bruised lung) and La'Mical Perine (reserve/COVID-19 list) sidelined, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson had the Jets backfield mostly to himself one other time this season, and he produced 104 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries after Gore got hurt early in a Week 13 loss to the Raiders. New England's defense has been vulnerable against the run this season, so Johnson could make for an intriguing fantasy option in both season-long and DFS formats in Week 17. In addition to his big game on the ground against the Raiders, Johnson has shown an ability to contribute as a pass catcher out of the backfield, as evidenced by his six-reception effort versus the Rams in Week 15. Josh Adams should also factor into the Jets' backfield rotation, but Johnson's involvement in the passing game seemingly gives him the higher overall fantasy ceiling.

Johnson rushed twice for 13 yards and wasn't targeted in the passing game in Sunday's 23-16 win over the Browns.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson ranked a distant third in carries among Jets running backs behind Frank Gore (14) and La'Mical Perine (nine) in Perine's return from an ankle injury. New York played from ahead for the final three quarters, so Johnson's pass-catching skills out of the backfield weren't called upon after last week's six-catch performance. Gore left in the second half with a chest injury, and if he's unable to play in next week's season finale in New England, Johnson would likely take on a larger role on passing downs while Perine handles the bulk of the early-down work.

Johnson carried the ball three times for 16 yards and caught all six of his targets for 39 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 23-20 upset of the Rams.
EDGE Analysis
The running back opened the scoring in the first quarter by taking a short pass from Sam Darnold 18 yards to the pylon, setting the stage for the Jets' first win of the season. Johnson took a back seat to Frank Gore (24 touches) most of the rest of the afternoon, but assuming the team doesn't shock another playoff-bound team in Week 16, he could see a bigger workload as the Jets try to keep up with the Browns.

Johnson rushed eight times for 16 yards and wasn't targeted in the passing game in Sunday's 40-3 loss to Seattle.
EDGE Analysis
One week after topping 100 yards on the ground and finding the end zone, Johnson was bottled up while splitting carries with both Frank Gore (eight) and Josh Adams (six). As long as Gore's healthy, Johnson will have a hard time getting enough touches to move the needle much. Up next is a Week 15 road matchup with the Rams.

Johnson rushed 22 times for 104 yards and a touchdown while catching both of his targets for 13 yards in Sunday's 31-28 loss to the Raiders.
EDGE Analysis
Frank Gore exited almost immediately to be evaluated for a concussion, paving the way for a backfield split between Johnson and Josh Adams, who had eight carries for 74 yards. Johnson's one-yard touchdown plunge with 5:34 remaining put the Jets up by four, but that lead disintegrated in heartbreaking fashion on a 46-yard Henry Ruggs touchdown with five seconds left. Finally getting a chance to shine after showing some promise in a limited role, the shifty Johnson would be in line to remain New York's lead back in Week 14 against the Seahawks if Gore's unable to clear the league's five-step concussion protocol.

Johnson rushed twice for three yards and caught one of two targets for one yard in Sunday's 20-3 loss to the Dolphins.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson backed up Frank Gore with La'Mical Perine (ankle) on IR, but Gore got 21 touches to Johnson's three. With coach Adam Gase content to feed the plodding Gore rather than exploring alternatives, Johnson's role should remain minimal in Week 13 against a Raiders team that has struggled to defend running backs.

Johnson will be part of a running back rotation with Frank Gore and Josh Adams for the next three games with La'Mical Perine (ankle) on IR, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson earned his highest offensive snap share (23 percent) of the season this past Sunday against the Jets, turning it into four catches (on six targets) for 17 yards. With Gore set to lead the backfield -- he's averaging 13.3 touches per game this season -- Johnson may serve as the pass-catching option for the group. In 23 career games, Johnson has hauled in 29 of 40 targets for 132 yards.

Johnson didn't record a carry but caught four of six targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 34-28 loss to the Chargers.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson got some action as a receiving option out of the backfield after La'Mical Perine exited with an ankle injury. If Perine's unable to play against the Dolphins in Week 12, Johnson would serve as the shifty passing-down complement to veteran bruiser Frank Gore.

Johnson did not garner a carry or a target on two offensive snaps during Monday night's 30-27 loss to New England.
EDGE Analysis
The Maryland product was active for a fourth consecutive outing Week 9, though he was not a part of the Jets' offensive game plan after fielding four touches in Kansas City last Sunday. Johnson received most of his work on special teams, with 12 snaps in that department, while Frank Gore (12 carries) and La'Mical Perine (six carries) split the RB rush attempts, combining for 65 yards against New England's No. 25 rush defense. Johnson remains the Jets' No. 3 back, as the team takes its bye week before heading into a Nov. 22 matchup against the Chargers.

Sun 11/1/20 10:15 PM

Johnson rushed three times for 15 yards and caught his lone target for another six in Sunday's 35-9 loss to the Chiefs.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson finished fourth on the team in carries behind Frank Gore (10), La'Mical Perine (eight) and quarterback Sam Darnold (four). He also had a 17-yard kick return on special teams. Johnson doesn't see enough playing time on offense to make much of a difference, and that's likely to remain the case barring an injury to Gore or Perine.
