Tagovailoa (ankle) was limited at practice Wednesday, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network previously relayed that Tagovailoa -- who suffered an ankle injury late in the Dolphins' Week 13 loss to the 49ers -- could have returned to the game and is expected to start this weekend on the road against the Chargers. That said, the QB's listed limitations Wednesday make his status worth tracking and confirming ahead of Sunday's night's 8:20 ET kickoff.

Tagovailoa (ankle) could have returned to Sunday's game against the 49ers and is expected to start next Sunday against the Chargers, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tagovailoa was banged up when he fumbled on a sack during the closing minutes of Sunday's matchup and was replaced by Skylar Thompson for the Dolphins' final possession. Tagovailoa downplayed the severity of his injury during his postgame press conference but said that he'd continue to be assessed. He doesn't appear to be dealing with a significant injury and is unlikely to miss time.

Tagovailoa (ankle) said after Sunday's loss to the 49ers that he feels "as good as I can be coming off a game," Adam H. Beasley of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tagovailoa was kept off the field for the Dolphins' final drive Sunday and was listed as questionable to return. He said during his postgame press conference that he'll have a few things assessed, but he didn't seem too concerned about his availability going forward. His status for next Sunday's game against the Chargers will likely come into focus based on his availability at practice this week.

Tagovailoa suffered an ankle injury during Sunday's loss to the 49ers.
EDGE Analysis
Tagovailoa fumbled on a sack in the closing minutes of Sunday's matchup and was replaced by Skylar Thompson for the Dolphins' final drive of the game. Tagovailoa completed 18 of 33 pass attempts for 295 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions prior to leaving Sunday's game, and it's not yet clear whether the issue will impact his availability for next Sunday's game against the Chargers. Teddy Bridgewater (knee) has been inactive for six consecutive games, so Thompson would likely draw the Week 14 start if Tagovailoa is unavailable.

Tagovailoa may have to suit up for Sunday's road matchup against the 49ers without the protection of his two top tackles, with Austin Jackson (ankle) listed as out and Terron Armstead (pectoral) listed as doubtful, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Dolphins will likely start Brandon Shell and Greg Little at left and right tackle, respectively, neither of whom boast the type of reliability desired against a dangerous 49ers pass rush headlined by Nick Bosa. Last week's matchup against the Texans saw Tagovailoa make an early exit not just because of Miami's convincing 30-0 around halftime, but because the young quarterback was sacked multiple times after Jackson and Armstead both departed with injuries. The Dolphins' coaching staff is adaptable and will doubtless scheme specifically to account for an O-line missing its top players, but Tagovailoa could nonetheless face tremendous difficulty overcoming pressure during Sunday's matchup. It's possible Miami could lean more heavily than usual on Jeff Wilson and Raheem Mostert, both ex-49ers, in the run game.

Sun 11/27/22 4:25 PM

Tagovailoa completed 22 of 36 passes for 299 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in the Dolphins' 30-15 win over the Texans on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Tagovailoa helped the Dolphins to points in five of their six first-half possessions, leading to a 30-0 lead that eventually facilitated an early exit for the star quarterback. While he was on the field, Tagovailoa did an exemplary job of distributing the ball, hitting nine different pass catchers for completions overall, including reserve tight end Durham Smythe for his one touchdown pass. The 2020 first-round pick's three-game streak of multi-touchdown efforts was snapped, but he'll take the surging Dolphins into a Week 13 road showdown against the 49ers with an elite 19:3 TD:INT and no less than 261 passing yards in any of his last five contests.

Tagovailoa completed 25 of 32 passes for 284 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Dolphins' 39-17 win over the Browns on Sunday. He also rushed once for no gain and recovered a fumble.
EDGE Analysis
Tagovailoa put together another impressive performance through the air, although in Sunday's case, he took a bit of the road less traveled for a lot of his production. No Dolphins pass catcher recorded more than Jaylen Waddle's 66 yards, and Tagovailoa connected with eight different targets overall. Tagovailoa did hit Tyreek Hill for one of his trio of scores, but his other two touchdown passes went to the unlikely duo of Trent Sherfield and Alec Ingold. The third-year signal-caller will head into a Week 11 bye having put together three consecutive three-touchdown efforts and sporting an 18:3 TD:INT overall.

Tagovailoa completed 21 of 30 passes for 302 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Dolphins' 35-32 win over the Bears on Sunday. He also netted no gain on five rushes and fumbled once but recovered.
EDGE Analysis
Tagovailoa authored his third 300-yard effort of the season, albeit barely, including his second straight such tally. The third-year signal-caller connected with Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and new arrival Jeff Wilson from three, 18 and 10 yards out, respectively, for his three scoring tosses, and he distributed the ball effectively while hitting six different targets overall. Tagovailoa will take a three-game interception-less streak into a Week 10 home matchup against a beatable Browns secondary.

Sun 10/30/22 4:28 PM

Tagovailoa completed 29 of 36 passes for 382 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions while adding 19 yards on five rushes in the Dolphins' 31-27 win over the Lions on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Tagovailoa opened the game hot and rarely let up, taking advantage of the highly porous Lions defense to help claw Miami back from an early 14-0 deficit. The third-year pro hit Jaylen Waddle with touchdown passes of five and 29 yards in the first and second quarters, respectively, and he capped off the scoring late in the third quarter with an 11-yard strike to Mike Gesicki. Meanwhile, although he didn't have any end-zone connections with Tyreek Hill, he targeted the perennial Pro Bowler a team-high 14 times, connecting with him on 12 of those occasions for 188 yards. Sunday's stellar effort, despite the caliber of competition, served as a tangible reminder of Tagovailoa's outstanding chemistry with his two top receivers and command of head coach Mike McDaniel's offense. With his first 300-yard-plus/multi-touchdown tally since Week 2, Tagovailoa heads into a Week 9 road matchup against the Bears with an abundance of momentum.

Mon 10/24/22 1:03 AM

Tagovailoa (concussion/ankle) completed 21 of 35 pass attempts for 261 yards and a touchdown while adding 15 yards on four carries in Sunday's 16-10 win over the Steelers.
EDGE Analysis
Tagovailoa returned to the field after a two-game layoff due to multiple injuries, leading his team to victory in a nationally-televised game in the process. The statistics weren't gaudy from a fantasy perspective, but managers should be pleased he made it through a full game after getting knocked out early the last time he returned from injury this season. With one of the best wide receiver duos at his disposal in Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, Tagovailoa is an appealing fantasy option heading into a soft matchup against Detroit next Sunday.
