Tagovailoa completed 24 of 37 pass attempts for 293 yards and a touchdown with no turnovers in Sunday's 22-20 win over Dallas.
EDGE Analysis
Tagovailoa benefited from the return of star wideout Tyreek Hill (ankle) after the quarterback posted his highest yardage total since Week 11. That said, Miami may lose its other star receiver after Jaylen Waddle (eye/shin) left Sunday's contest twice with two different injuries. As for the game itself, Tagovailoa performed adequately and led his team to victory, but the offense was stagnant in the red zone with just one touchdown to five field goals. Tagovailoa would benefit from having his full slate of talented receivers to overcome a tough Ravens defense in a road matchup Dec. 31.

Sun 12/17/23 4:36 PM

Tagovailoa completed 21 of 24 passes for 224 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's 30-0 win over the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
After the Dolphins took advantage of a couple short fields to get a rushing touchdown and a field goal, Tagovailoa helped them extend the lead to 17-0 with a 60-yard touchdown pass to Jaylen Waddle, who accounted for 142 of Tagovailoa's 224 passing yards. While Tagovailoa didn't light up the box score in Tyreek Hill's (ankle) absence, he avoided major mistakes while letting Miami's defense and running game lead the way. The starting quarterback took most of the fourth quarter off after his team built a 30-0 lead. Tagovailoa has thrown only one touchdown over the last two games with Hill banged up, so he'll hope to get his top target back in Week 16 against the Cowboys.

Tue 12/12/23 12:15 AM

Tagovailoa completed 23 of 33 passes for 240 yards without a touchdown or interception in Monday's 28-27 loss to the Titans. He added three rushing attempts for 15 yards and fumbled twice, losing one.
EDGE Analysis
Tagovailoa fumbled a snap on second-and-goal from the 2-yard line to end Miami's opening drive, and the offense bogged down after Tyreek Hill left with an ankle injury on the following possession. Tagovailoa finished the first half with just 84 passing yards, and while the Dolphins found more success after Hill returned in the third quarter, Miami's three touchdowns came on a pick-six and two Raheem Mostert touchdown runs set up by fumble recoveries deep in Tennessee territory. The Dolphins got the ball down by one with 1:49 remaining but turned it over on downs with Hill playing at less than 100 percent. Given how poorly Tagovailoa played while Hill wasn't in the game, he could struggle Week 15 against the stout Jets secondary if Hill isn't healthy.

Sun 12/3/23 4:28 PM

Tagovailoa completed 18 of 24 passes for 280 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Dolphins' 45-15 win over the Commanders on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Tagovailoa and the rest of Miami's front-line players got a chance to take an early seat in the fourth quarter thanks to the expansive lead the fourth-year signal-caller played an integral part in forging. Playing against a Commanders secondary that had been victimized regularly by opposing air attacks, Tagovailoa executed an early aggressive game plan from head coach Mike McDaniel to near perfection, averaging 11.7 yards per attempt while connecting with Tyreek Hill for touchdown passes of 78 and 60 yards in the first and second quarters, respectively. Tagovailoa finished with an elite QB rating of 141.0 for the day, and he's now completed at least 70.0 percent of his passes in three straight games. Tagovailoa and his aerial weapons could be set up for another productive contest in a Week 14 home matchup against the vulnerable Titans secondary on Monday night, Dec. 11.

Fri 11/24/23 6:36 PM

Tagovailoa completed 21 of 30 passes for 243 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Friday's 34-13 win over the Jets. He added one rushing yard on two attempts and lost a fumble.
EDGE Analysis
Tagovailoa failed to connect with Tyreek Hill in the end zone on fourth down to end Miami's opening drive, but he found Hill for a seven-yard touchdown in the second quarter. That throw extended Tua's streak of games with a touchdown pass to 20 consecutive appearances, which gives him sole possession of second place in franchise history behind Dan Marino's 30-game streak in 1985-87. He let the Jets back into the game with a pick-six to cut Miami's lead to 10-6 in the final minute of the first half, only for Tim Boyle to return the favor on the final play before halftime, allowing the Dolphins to bleed clock with a run-heavy approach in the second half. Tagovailoa came up short of 250 passing yards for just the fourth time this season, but he'll have a nice opportunity to get back over that threshold in Week 13 against a Washington defense that just allowed 331 passing yards and four touchdowns to Dak Prescott on Thanksgiving.

Sun 11/19/23 5:01 PM

Tagovailoa completed 28 of 39 passes for 325 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in the Dolphins' 20-13 win over the Raiders on Sunday. He also rushed twice for six yards and lost a fumble.
EDGE Analysis
The Dolphins had more trouble than anticipated overall with the feisty Raiders, but Tagovailoa finished the game with another impressive stat line that included his fifth 300-yard effort and sixth multi-touchdown tally of the campaign. Tagovailoa lost star running back De'Von Achane (knee) early into the rookie's return from a four-game absence and also saw Tyreek Hill exit briefly with a hand injury before returning. While the final point total was a bit underwhelming, Tagovailoa's day certainly pleased fantasy managers and sends him into a Week 12 Black Friday afternoon divisional road clash against the Jets with plenty of momentum.

Tagovailoa completed 21 of 34 passes for 193 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 21-14 loss to Kansas City.
EDGE Analysis
Tagovailoa has been efficient for the entire season, though that disappeared against Kansas City as he managed only 5.7 yards per attempt. He remained relatively accurate, so his inefficiency ultimately came from his inability to push the ball down the field, illustrated by only one completion that went over 20 yards. Despite the slow performance, Tagovailoa did make a nice throw to Cedrick Wilson to connect for a 31-yard touchdown. The Dolphins will look to regroup on a Week 10 bye before a Week 11 matchup against the Raiders.

Sun 10/29/23 5:05 PM

Tagovailoa completed 30 of 45 passes for 324 yards with three touchdowns and one interception and added eight yards on six carries in the Dolphins' 31-17 win over the Patriots on Sunday. He was also charged with a lost fumble on a mishandled handoff to Raheem Mostert.
EDGE Analysis
Tagovailoa's day included a couple of minor blemishes in the pair of turnovers, but the fourth-year quarterback made up for it with another sharp performance. Tagovailoa started off hot with a 42-yard touchdown pass to Tyreek Hill in the first quarter, and he followed it up with a one-yard scoring strike to Cedrick Wilson on a quick slant in the second quarter. Tagovailoa then put the finishing touches on the two-touchdown win by hitting Jaylen Waddle from 31 yards out for his final score of the day. Tagovailoa now has five games with multiple touchdown passes, with three of those coming in the last four games. The Dolphins next gear up for a Week 9 showdown with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in Germany, during which Tagovailoa and the air attack should be busy.

Mon 10/23/23 1:14 AM

Tagovailoa completed 23 of 32 pass attempts for 216 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 31-17 loss to the Eagles.
EDGE Analysis
Tagovailoa had a down game by the lofty standards he set in the six games leading up to Sunday's dud. The 25-year-old's only turnover came late in the fourth quarter as the Dolphins were trying to even the score at 24. Tagovailoa was pressured to throw into coverage on third and long to keep the drive alive, resulting in an errant throw that was picked off for his sixth interception of the season and helped contribute to Miami's third loss. In the quarterback's defense, this was a road game against a tough opponent looking to rebound from an ugly loss in Week 6. Tagovailoa will have to bounce back in his own right as the Dolphins attempt to get back into the win column against New England next Sunday.

Sun 10/15/23 6:24 PM

Tagovailoa completed 21 of 31 passes for 262 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 42-21 win over Carolina.
EDGE Analysis
Tagovailoa recorded his second-fewest yards in a game this season, though that's more an indication of his excellent start to the year than a poor performance. He averaged 8.5 yards per attempt and managed his third game of the campaign with at least three touchdowns, which came from three, four and 41 yards away. In addition, Tagovailoa continued to show the ability to push the ball deep, as he completed two passes of more than 40 yards and four of greater than 20. He now has at least 249 yards and one touchdown in every contest heading into a Week 7 matchup against the Eagles.
