Helu had five receptions for 78 yards and two carries for eight yards in Thursday's 45-14 loss to the Giants. The game situation allowed Helu to pile up some receptions, but his role is the same as ever. He's the top back for passing downs, but will otherwise just spell Alfred Morris when the Redskins' bell cow needs a breather.

However, with full participation completed at both Wednesday's and Thursday's practice sessions, Helu appears to be fine in advance of Sunday's divisional contest at Philadelphia.

Helu will serve as the Redskins' top backup and primary third-down back, the Washington Post reports. It's the same role Helu held for all of last season, when he recorded 31 receptions for 251 yards, along with 62 carries for 274 yards and four touchdowns. While not all that exciting as a runner, Helu is one Alfred Morris injury away from what would possibly be a role as a three-down lead back. The Redskins kept undrafted rookie Silas Redd as their third and final running back.
