Matthews hauled in five of six targets for 113 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's 40-17 loss to the Steelers.

EDGE Analysis

Matthews got the Titans jump-started in the second half by catching a perfectly thrown deep post and deftly evading two defenders on his way to paydirt. It was the 28-year-old's longest touchdown of the campaign, while his receiving yardage total was a season high. It was also his second score in the last three games, but he still has a ways to go before approximating the nine end-zone trips he tallied last season. Matthews will look to continue building towards that goal in Week 12 against the vulnerable Colts secondary.

Matthews caught five of seven targets for 50 yards in Sunday's 24-20 win over the Bengals.

EDGE Analysis

Matthews ranked third in targets behind Corey Davis (10) and Rishard Matthews (nine). The veteran wide receiver has been consistently mediocre this season, finishing between three and six catches and between 34 and 87 yards in every game this season.

Matthews caught four of seven targets for 70 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 23-20 win over Baltimore.

EDGE Analysis

Matthews was wide open in the end zone from 16 yards out late in the first quarter. The touchdown was only his second of the season, as Matthews has disappointed in that regard after scoring nine times in his last 12 games last year. Rookie wide receiver Corey Davis (hamstring) returned for the first time since Week 2, but Matthews' workload should remain steady regardless of who suits up on the outside opposite him.

Matthews caught three of six passes for 40 yards in Sunday's 12-9 overtime win over Cleveland.

EDGE Analysis

Probably Tennessee's most consistent outside threat, Matthews has been solid, but unspectacular for much of this season. He's topped 65 yards receiving and four catches thrice in seven games. He has scored just once, however. The smash-mouth style of play Tennessee leans on isn't particularly conducive to quality receiver play to begin with. The presence of tight end Delanie Walker and two up-and-coming rookies in Corey Davis and Taywan Taylor probably limit Matthews' ceiling even further.

Matthews caught all four of his targets for 69 yards in Monday night's 36-22 win over the Colts.

EDGE Analysis

Matthews' performance included a reception of 27 yards, giving him a 20-yard catch in five of Tennessee's six games thus far. Although his four targets marked a season low, Matthews made the most from his looks, setting a season high in yards per catch. In Week 7, the trusty wideout sports a fantasy-friendly matchup against the lowly Browns.

Matthews caught three of six targets for 34 yards and lost three yards on his lone carry in Sunday's 16-10 loss to Miami.

EDGE Analysis

Matthews tied fellow wide receiver Eric Decker for the team lead in both receiving yards and targets as the passing game on a whole failed to produce much in the absence of starting quarterback Marcus Mariota (hamstring). As long as 35-year-old backup Matt Cassel is starting under center, Matthews and the rest of Tennessee's deep receiving corps will be tough to trust.

Matthews caught three of eight targets for 49 yards in Sunday's 57-14 loss at Houston.

EDGE Analysis

Matthews led the team in targets, and combined with tight end Delanie Walker for 100 of the team's 117 receiving yards in this ugly loss. All of his production came before quarterback Marcus Mariota left in the third quarter with a hamstring injury. While Matthews seems to have emerged as the most reliable option in Tennessee's deep receiving corps, he'll be tough to trust if Mariota is forced to miss any more time.

Matthews caught six of 10 targets for 87 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 33-27 win over Seattle.

EDGE Analysis

Matthews was quarterback Marcus Mariota's go-to target Sunday, and the receiver had his best fantasy showing of the year. However, like in weeks past, Mariota spread the ball around and connected with eight different receivers. There are clearly a lot of mouths to feed in the Tennessee offense, and the running game will remain a focal point. Additionally, rookie receiver Corey Davis (hamstring) will probably return to being heavily involved once healthy. Still, Matthews has long-standing chemistry with Mariota, and the wideout projects to continue moving the fantasy needle in the majority of settings.

Matthews caught three of five targets for 43 yards in Sunday's 37-16 win over Jacksonville.

EDGE Analysis

Matthews finished second only to tight end Delanie Walker in receiving yards, but this was still a disappointing performance considering fellow wide receiver Corey Davis sat much of this one out after his hamstring injury flared up. Four other Titans racked up at least 30 receiving yards as quarterback Marcus Mariota spread the ball around. With more mouths to feed in the passing attack this year and a run-heavy approach in close, it's tough to see Matthews replicating last season's 945 yards and nine touchdowns.

Matthews leads the NFL since the start of 2016 with eight receptions for first downs when facing a third-and-10 or greater, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.

EDGE Analysis

Matthews added the eighth catch last week on Tennessee's first scoring drive, when he and quarterback Marcus Mariota hooked up for a 19-yard pass on third-and-10. In all, three of his five catches last week went for first downs when facing a third-down situation. This serves to highlight the trust and chemistry Matthews has established with Mariota. Ideally, the Titans won't need to convert on third-and-10 or longer too many times, but it's another data point in favor of inserting Matthews into fantasy starting lineups.
