Broncos S Quentin Jammer has switched back to cornerback. It's a sign Jammer's roster chances are poor. The Denver Post expects the Broncos to keep defensive backs, and believes nine spots are already locked up. Jammer is competing with Omar Bolden, who has switched from corner to safety.

The Broncos will convert Quentin Jammer to safety. Denver announced Jammer as a defensive back upon signing him, and we expected this move. The Broncos flirted with Charles Woodson before the veteran signed with the Raiders, but Jammer came cheaper and is more than two years younger than Woodson. He'll battle FS Rahim Moore for playing time.

Free agent CB Quentin Jammer would "love" to re-sign with the Chargers. "I've had conversations with them," Jammer said. "They said the door wasn't completely closed. Hopefully, maybe down the road a little bit, the Chargers will offer me something." Jammer went on to say that his "expectation is to be elsewhere," and that he's not considering retirement. Going on 34, Jammer's lone free-agent visit was to the Redskins in late-April.

The Washington Examiner thinks it's unlikely that free agent CB Quentin Jammer signs with the Redskins, although he isn't "completely off the radar."

The Redskins will host CB Quentin Jammer for a free agent visit on Sunday night. Ex-Chargers GM A.J. Smith is now in Washington's front office, explaining this connection. The Skins' biggest current secondary need is at free safety, where Jammer could potentially convert at 6-foot, 204 with solid tackling skills. He has been burnt early and often in deep man coverage the past few seasons.

The Tampa Bay Times has been told that the Bucs have not made contact with free agent CB Quentin Jammer. The Bucs have a glaring hole at corner and have roughly $27 million of cap space. But their plans at the position are apparently on hold as the Darrelle Revis situation shakes out. Jammer, now entering his age-34 season, was among the worst coverage corners in the league last year.

The Union-Tribune San Diego suggests free agent CB Quentin Jammer could return to the Chargers "at the right price." Jammer's free-agent market has been a snoozefest, not so much as warranting a Rotoworld blurb since four days before the signing period began. The Chargers still have $7 million in salary cap room. They need to sign their draft class, but could fit in Jammer on a deal for the league minimum salary.

Free agent CBs Quentin Jammer and Antoine Cason are going to test the open market. Per beat writer Kevin Acee, "the door is open" for both Jammer and Cason to return, but they'll likely "find better deals elsewhere." We wouldn't be so sure. The cornerback market is growing by the hour, and with teams working with a relatively flat cap, a lot of veterans could be on the street for a while. Cason, 26, shouldn't have trouble, but Jammer, 34 in June, might struggle to find much money.

Chargers LCB Quentin Jammer (broken hand) plans on playing in Sunday's game against the Titans. It's becoming almost standard for defensive backs to play with broken hands. Jammer had surgery on Tuesday, but is expected to wear a cast and suit up. The Chargers are desperate as No. 3 corner Shareece Wright sustained a potentially serious ankle injury in Week 1.
