Coach Kyle Shanahan relayed that Garcon would be withheld from Thursday's practice with shoulder and knee injuries, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

EDGE Analysis

It was known that Garcon hurt his shoulder early in the Week 5 loss to the Cardinals, but it's more surprising to see the wideout also listed with a knee issue. While it's possible that Garcon's absence Wednesday was mostly maintenance-related, he'll need to put in a full practice by Saturday in order to avoid an injury designation heading into the Monday night matchup with the Packers.

Garcon (shoulder) returned to Sunday's game, reports.

EDGE Analysis

Garcon left the contest after going to the ground in the first quarter, but was able to return before halftime. With Dante Pettis (knee) and Marquise Goodwin (hamstring) both inactive, losing Garcon would have made the 49ers extremely thin at wide receiver.

Garcon is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Cardinals due to a shoulder injury, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

EDGE Analysis

On a low throw from C.J. Beathard late in the first quarter, Garcon went for it and afterward went to the bench in apparent pain. The medical staff examined his shoulder before escorting him to the locker room. If he eventually joins Marquise Goodwin (hamstring/quadriceps - inactive) and Dante Pettis (knee - inactive) as unavailable Sunday, the 49ers will be left with Trent Taylor, Kendrick Bourne, Richie James and Victor Bolden at wide receiver.

Garcon had four catches (seven targets) for 54 yards in Sunday's loss to San Diego.

EDGE Analysis

Garcon rebounded from a disappointing one-catch performance last week, pacing all San Francisco wideouts in receptions, targets and yards. Still, his final stat line left much to be desired from a fantasy standpoint. Garcon should be considered a low-end option in PPR formats against the Cardinals next week.

Garcon gained 11 yards on his lone reception (four targets) in Sunday's 38-27 loss to Kansas City.

EDGE Analysis

Garcon received just as many targets as fellow starter Marquise Goodwin, but did significantly less with his opportunities. The veteran wideout is averaging just 4.7 targets through three games after averaging 8.4 per game last season. George Kittle's emergence as legitimate receiving threat coupled with Goodwin's improvement has limited Garcon's ceiling, especially if Jimmy Garoppolo (knee) is forced to miss extended time.

Garcon caught all four of his targets for 57 yards during Sunday's 30-27 win over the Lions.

EDGE Analysis

Garcon tied for the team lead in targets on the day while leading the way in receiving yardage, though his numbers were suppressed a bit as the ground game carried much of the load. He broke off a 20-yard gain at one point but otherwise struggled to make big plays downfield. Garcon was expected to see his usage increase a bit with Marquise Goodwin (thigh) sidelined, but that didn't translate into especially useful fantasy production. Garcon has totaled just 78 yards on six catches through two games and will look to get going in the right direction next week against the Chiefs.

Garcon caught two of his six targets for 21 yards in Sunday's 24-16 loss to Minnesota.

EDGE Analysis

Garcon drew a tough matchup against All-Pro corner Xavier Rhodes, resulting in a lackluster performance. The veteran did receive a redzone target, but failed to come down with the potential touchdown following a mid-air collision. Garcon's six targets were tied for second amongst all San Francisco receivers, and he should produce better stat lines in more-favorable matchups this season. That said, he could draw another tough corner in Darius Slay next week, especially if fellow starter Marquise Goodwin (quadriceps) is unable to suit up for the contest.

Garcon caught two of three targets for 62 yards during Saturday's 23-17 preseason loss to the Colts.

EDGE Analysis

Garcon starred on a long drive in the second quarter, taking a pass 15 yards across the middle before breaking off a 47-yard gain on a deep ball. He played into the team's final drive of the half, but only drew one additional target during his time on the field. Garcon didn't have the opportunity to work with starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo last year, so there's likely some work to do in terms of building a rapport, but he certainly has the potential to produce useful fantasy numbers as one of the team's top targets. He isn't expected to play in the final preseason contest and should be ready to roll for Week 1 of the regular season.

Garcon started Thursday's preseason win over the Cowboys, but he did not receive a target in the lone offensive drive for the first unit.

EDGE Analysis

Garcon didn't show up in the box score, but his presence in the starting lineup confirms his good health heading into the season after a neck injury cost him eight games in 2017. Marquise Goodwin took advantage of the veteran's absence down the stretch, solidifying his role as the club's big-play threat. The two wideouts will start alongside each other this season, and Garcon figures to serve a possession receiver role. The 32-year-old will have PPR appeal after posting 40 catches for 500 yards in eight games, none of which came with Jimmy Garoppolo under center.

Garcon (neck) has been healthy all spring, giving him plenty of time to build chemistry with Jimmy Garoppolo, Keiana Martin of the 49ers' official website reports.

EDGE Analysis

Garcon suffered a non-displaced neck fracture Week 8 last season and missed the rest of the campaign. Marquise Goodwin (back) took advantage of the opportunity to emerge as San Francisco's No. 1 receiver, earning a three-year, $19.25 million extension in March. The 31-year-old Garcon is still locked in as the other starter, and it won't come as any surprise if he ends up leading the team in targets. He drew 67 in eight games last season, with Goodwin seeing 46 over the same stretch.
