Chubb rushed 10 times for 60 yards and brought in his only target for six yards in the Browns' 38-6 loss to the Ravens on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.

EDGE Analysis

Chubb saw backfield mate Kareem Hunt outpace him by three carries, and given that the unexpected workload split unfolded in the first game under a new head coach/coordinator, it certainly is a situation at least worth monitoring heading into Week 2. That said, there was nothing amiss with Chubb's efficiency, as his 6.0 yards per carry against an elite defense was highlighted by an impressive 29-yard run. Chubb did cough up the ball with four seconds remaining in the third quarter, but the Browns already were down 31-6 at the time. The third-year back will look to build on his solid numbers with a bigger share of touches in a Thursday night AFC North battle against the Bengals in Week 2.

Chubb has cleared concussion protocol and will practice Saturday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

EDGE Analysis

Less than a week after leaving practice early following a hard tackle from teammate Mack Wilson, Chubb will return to the practice field having cleared concussion protocol. The star running back figures to be in line for an excellent 2020 campaign behind a rebuilt offensive line and alongside head coach Kevin Stefanski, who made Dalvin Cook a top-tier fantasy asset during his tenure with the Vikings.

Chubb (concussion) hopes to be cleared to return to practice soon, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

EDGE Analysis

Supporting that notion is that Cleveland's running back coach Stump Mitchell noted that Chubb has been attending meetings and doesn't have any headaches at this stage. In the meantime, Kareem Hunt is handling first-team practice reps out of the team's backfield.

Chubb (concussion) has been at the Browns' headquarters since suffering a concussion Monday, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

EDGE Analysis

Chubb is not cleared to return, but his presence in the building is a positive sign. While he takes the time in concussion protocol, Kareem Hunt gets first-team reps as the top running back.

Coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed Tuesday that Chubb is in the NFL's concussion protocol, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

EDGE Analysis

Chubb will thus be held out of practice Tuesday and is considered day-to-day. In his absence, Kareem Hunt figures to take the team's first-team backfield reps.

The Browns are evaluating Chubb for a possible concussion after he was on the receiving end of a hard tackle from teammate Mack Wilson during Monday's practice, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

EDGE Analysis

The incident occurred when Chubb reeled in a short pass before being met by Wilson, who hit him around the shoulder area. Chubb walked off the field with a trainer by his side and didn't return to practice, the Browns' first padded session of training camp. He'll presumably go through testing over the next day or two as the Browns look to confirm whether or not he sustained a concussion.

Chubb says he's excited to work with Kareem Hunt in the Cleveland backfield, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

EDGE Analysis

Chubb was averaging 19.3 carries and 4.0 targets per game at the midway point of 2019, before dropping to 18.0 carries and 2.1 targets over the final eight weeks with Hunt in the lineup. That still left Chubb as one of the more heavily used runners in the NFL, with the Browns even utilizing formations that put him on the field at the same time as Hunt. It isn't clear if those two-back looks will be popular under new coach Kevin Stefanski, who takes over an offense that added TE Austin Hooper and FB Andy Janovich during the offseason. It's thus fair to wonder if Chubb could drop down closer to 15 carries per game, though his performance to this point in his career certainly justifies larger workloads. As such, the backfield split between Chubb and Hunt will be one of the major fantasy storylines to monitor early in the season.

Chubb rushed for 41 yards on 13 carries and caught one of two targets for one yard in Sunday's 33-23 loss to the Bengals in Week 17.

EDGE Analysis

The Browns played from behind for much of the game, but not so much that they should have abandoned Chubb. He finished with a season low in carries and yards while losing the NFL rushing title to Tennessee's Derrick Henry. In a disappointing season for the organization, Chubb was one of its few bright spots. Cleveland fired head coach Freddie Kitchens following the game, so there will be some changes to the team in 2020. Chubb, however, is expected to occupy the same role as the team's lead back.

Chubb gained 45 yards on 15 carries and did not catch his lone target in Sunday's 31-15 loss to the Ravens.

EDGE Analysis

As Chubb has been the Browns' best player, the Ravens knew he was the first weapon to take away. The 45 yards from scrimmage is his lowest output of the season by a wide margin. If the Browns had entertained any thoughts of an upset or keeping their faint playoff hopes alive, they needed to open holes for him. Chubb will look to finish off the season with a better performance in Week 17 against the Bengals' 32nd-ranked run defense -- he averaged 7.1 yards per carry and gained 106 yards against them in Week 14.

Chubb rushed 17 times for 127 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 38-24 loss to the Cardinals. He also caught all three of his targets for 21 yards.

EDGE Analysis

Chubb was once again Cleveland's best offensive player, averaging a whopping 7.5 yards per carry. That figure was aided by Chubb's 33-yard touchdown run during the second quarter, giving the tailback eight rushing scores in consecutive seasons. Although backfield partner Kareem Hunt excelled through the air, catching eight passes for 62 yards, Chubb remains the Browns' workhorse on the ground. Sunday was the seventh time he's topped the 100-yard plateau this season and the third time he's done so in the last four weeks as he continues his quest toward the NFL rushing title.
