Week 4 Rankings Analysis - Nick Mariano vs. ECR rotoballer.com Thu 9/27/18 9:31 AM
Welcome, one and all, to the weekly piece that puts my rankings under the microscope and gives me a chance to explain myself against the Expert Consensus Rankings (ECR) found on FantasyPros. My hope is to help you understand why Im significantly higher or lower on players than the expert crowd.I'll be examining my own ranks against the ECR on a position-by-position basis, as the overall and flex tabs can simply get insane with every position folded in with the others. I focus on QB, RB, [...]

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas has come out of the gate white-hot to begin the season, posting an NFL-high 38 receptions for 398 yards and three touchdowns. The Saints now travel to New York to take on a Giants defense that has allowed the 11th fewest fantasy points to wide receivers. The Giants, however, were torched by the wide receiving weapons of the Texans last week and have allowed 10 or more fantasy points to three different receivers through three games. Thomas is a mus[...]

Air Yards Analysis - Sleepers for Week 3 rotoballer.com Sat 9/22/18 12:15 PM
The 'Air-Yards' metric is an extremely useful tool when analyzing how wide receivers are used. The concept was created by then-RotoViz contributor Josh Hermsmeyer, who has since launched his own website, AirYards.com. The majority of the data I discuss in this article was originally produced there, and I strongly encourage you to check out the site if you haven't already.Simply put, air-yards tell us how a receiver is earning his receiving yards and how his team is consistently using him. If a p[...]

Thursday Night Football Matchups Analysis - Week 3 rotoballer.com Thu 9/20/18 7:00 AM
I have already written A.J. Green an apology letter.
After noting that I would "hesitantly" put the Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver in the must-start category for last week's Thursday Night Football Matchups column due to the Baltimore Ravens' history of finding ways to keep him in check, he subtly responded by catching three touchdown passes in as many targets en route to a victory. Fantasy owners can be rest assured that Green will continue his dominance as his team's No. 1 wide receiver a[...]
Michael Thomas Will Be Top WR Option In Week 3 rotoballer.com Wed 9/19/18 4:43 PM
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas is off to a scorching start to his season, raking in 28 receptions for 269 yards and three touchdowns through the first two games. Thomas again will be a top option among wide receivers this week against a Falcons secondary that can be beaten. Thomas excelled against Atlanta last season, posting 14 catches for 183 yards and one touchdown in two meetings between the teams in 2017. Thomas clearly is the preferred target for quarterback Drew Brees an[...]
