Stafford (right thumb) was limited at Thursday's practice, Justin Rogers of The Detroit News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Lions continue to manage the practice reps of Stafford, who picked up a partial ligament tear in his right thumb during a Week 11 loss at Carolina. He proceeded to complete 28 of 42 passes for 295 yards, one touchdown and one interception during a loss on Thanksgiving to the Texans. While Detroit's skill positions may again be depleted Sunday in Chicago -- both Kenny Golladay (hip) and D'Andre Swift (illness) didn't practice Thursday -- Stafford put up 297 yards and one TD against the Bears back in Week 1.

Stafford (thumb) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
EDGE Analysis
Stafford has regularly had his practice reps capped since suffering a right thumb injury Week 11, but he hasn't actually missed any games. The veteran signal-caller put up 42 pass attempts versus the Texans in the Lions' Thanksgiving Day loss, so his sore thumb doesn't appear to be hampering him too significantly. Top wideout Kenny Golladay (hip) couldn't practice to begin the week, but reliable slot man Danny Amendola (hip) managed a limited session.

Stafford completed 28 of 42 passes for 295 yards and a touchdown with an interception in Thursday's 41-25 loss to the Texans.
EDGE Analysis
He also gained three rushing yards on one carry and nearly caught a TD pass from Jamal Agnew on a trick play, but Stafford couldn't maintain possession as he hit the ground at the goal line. While there were more good moments for the Detroit offense than in last week's shutout, and the QB's sore thumb didn't seem to be an issue, there were plenty of bad plays too. Stafford tossed a pick-six to J.J. Watt, and his offensive line gave up four sacks and plenty of additional pressure. The Lions will face a tough test in Week 13 on the road against a Bears defense that's been among the best in the league in 2020.

Stafford (thumb) does not have an injury designation for Thursday's game against the Texans, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stafford upgraded to a full practice Wednesday after beginning the week with back-to-back limited sessions. The 32-year-old played through a torn ligament in his right thumb during last weekend's loss to the Panthers, in which he threw for a season-low 178 yards and no touchdowns. Stafford will look to put his injury fully behind him versus the Texans, though he'll have to accomplish that task without both Kenny Golladay (hip) and Danny Amendola (hip).

Stafford (right thumb) was a limited participant in Tuesday's walkthrough practice, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
There hasn't been any indication that Stafford is in danger of missing Thursday's game against the Texans, but his reps likely will remain limited all week. The 32-year-old played through the partial ligament tear in his right thumb last week against the Panthers and completed just 55 percent of his passes for 178 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions. While his performance was clearly hindered, he draws a favorable Week 12 matchup, as the Texans have allowed 7.8 yards per pass attempt this year (sixth-most in the league).

Stafford (thumb) was a limited participant on Monday's practice estimate, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stafford played through a partial ligament tear in his right thumb during Sunday's loss to the Panthers. His performance clearly was hindered, as he completed just 18 of 33 passes (55 percent) for 178 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions. While it was a dismal performance, there haven't been any reported setbacks to Stafford's injury. At this time, he should be ready to start in the Thanksgiving Day clash against the Texans.

Stafford completed 18 of 33 passes for 178 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions during Sunday's 20-0 loss to Carolina. He also rushed four times for five yards.
EDGE Analysis
Toughing out a thumb injury and playing without D'Andre Swift (concussion), Kenny Golladay (hip) and Danny Amendola (hip), Stafford was unable to take advantage of an inviting matchup against a sliding Panthers defense. While his numbers would have looked better had a 51-yard touchdown pass to Marvin Jones not been flagged for an illegal offensive formation, Stafford clearly seemed to be affected by his injury, and, given the offense's subsequent struggles moving the ball, it wouldn't be a surprise if Detroit gives Stafford time to heal in the coming weeks. If not, Stafford at least will have an even better matchup in Week 12 against a Texans defense that is allowing the sixth-most yards per pass attempt (7.8) in 2020.

Stafford (thumb) is active for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stafford was never cleared for full participation in practice at any point this week after he sustained a torn ligament to his right thumb in the Week 10 win over Washington. That said, the Lions became increasingly optimistic about Stafford's health as the week rolled along, with multiple reports coming through indicating he was able to throw the football without any major discomfort during practices Thursday and Friday. According to Kyle Meinke of MLive.com, Stafford was still donning a protective wrap on his thumb while he worked out early Sunday, but he once again appeared to be throwing without any issues. Rather than the thumb injury, the greater concern for Stafford this week is probably his dearth of weapons in the passing game; starting wideouts Kenny Golladay (hip) and Danny Amendola (hip) and top running back D'Andre Swift (concussion) are all inactive for the contest.

Stafford (thumb) is expected to start Sunday's game against the Panthers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Quarterbacks coach Sean Ryan said Friday the 32-year-old should be able to play with no limitations, and it appears he's avoided any setbacks halfway through the weekend. Stafford appears intent on playing through the ligament injury to his right thumb, but he'll also have to contend with the absences of the offense's top running back D'Andre Swift (concussion) and wideouts Kenny Golladay (hip) and Danny Amendola (hip) in Carolina.

Stafford (thumb) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Carolina, but Lions quarterbacks coach Sean Ryan said the veteran should be able to play without any limitations, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Multiple reports suggest Stafford is expected to play, as he's apparently been able to throw a football competently despite having a ligament injury to his right thumb. Injury aside, Stafford will face another the challenge in the form of a depleted supporting cast, with top running back D'Andre Swift (concussion) and starting wideouts Kenny Golladay (hip) and Danny Amendola (hip) all being ruled out. The Lions and Panthers are scheduled for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff.
