Osborn had three receptions on seven targets for 68 yards in Friday's preseason loss at Kansas City.
EDGE Analysis
Osborn has drawn rave reviews from the coaching staff in training camp and played well in the preseason games, so he looks like the leading candidate for the third receiver role. However, Dede Westbrook (knee) ultimately may win the No. 3 job when he gains full clearance from the torn ACL he sustained in 2020. Chad Beebe also remains in the mix may be a better fit as the slot receiver. The third receiver role for the Vikings could be in flux early in the regular season.

Osborn started at wide receiver and caught both his two targets for 27 yards in Saturday's preseason loss to the Colts.
EDGE Analysis
Osborn started opposite Adam Thielen with Justin Jefferson sitting out as he comes back from a shoulder injury, which shows he has a lead on the third-receiver role. Osborn also returned one punt for four yards. He's in the mix to win the punt and kickoff roles as well. Osborn has drawn rave reviews in camp, so he could have a role in the offense, but Dede Westbrook (knee) ultimately may win the No. 3 job when he gains full clearance from the torn ACL he sustained in 2020.

Osborn had two receptions for 15 yard and also returned two kickoffs for a 31-yard average in Saturday's preseason loss to Denver.
EDGE Analysis
Osborn is competing for the third receiver role with Chad Beebee and Dede Westbrook. He was listed as the No. 3 receiver on Minnesota's first unofficial depth chart of the preseason. He was one of the few players with a starting job or in competition for a starting job playing Saturday, likely to get him opportunities as a returner. Osborn could win the punt or kickoff return jobs along with a third or fourth receiver role.

Osborn is listed as the No. 3 receiver on Minnesota's first unofficial depth chart of the preseason.
EDGE Analysis
Osborn has drawn rave reviews in training camp, so this isn't a total surprise. He's listed with Chad Beebe as the No. 3 and No. 4 receivers, so there may not be much separation between the two. Dede Westbrook may ultimately win the No. 3 receiver role when he returns to full strength as he works his way back from a torn ACL. Osborn may not begin the season as the No 3 receiver as a result, but this shows he could have an increased role.

Osborn has had an impressive training camp, including catching a 50-yard reception in Saturday's scrimmage, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
He's more likely to make the final regular-season roster with Bisi Johnson out for the season with a knee injury. Osborn will face competition from Dede Westbrook for the punt return job he held much of last season. He's also likely behind Westbrook for the third receiver role. However, Osborn is a player to watch during the preseason given his early camp reports because he could make a large leap in his second season.

Osborn (coach's decision) is inactive for Minnesota's Week 12 matchup against the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
Osborn leads the Vikings in both punt-return attempts (four) and kick-return attempts (13) thus far in 2020, but Tajae Sharpe has been activated and inserted above him at the No. 5 wide receiver spot. With Osborn out of the mix for Week 12, Ameer Abdullah and Chad Beebe are likely to garner opportunities in the return game.

EDGE Analysis
The 23-year-old missed the previous two games heading into the Week 7 bye, but he's practicing with no limitations after receiving the extra recovery time. Osborn should reclaim returning duties for the Vikings now that he's healthy.

Osborn will miss his second game in a row due to a lingering hamstring injury. As long as he's sidelined, Chad Beebe will handle punt returns while Ameer Abdullah stands to return kickoffs.

EDGE Analysis
Osborn looks to be trending in the wrong direction for Sunday's game against the Falcons. If he's forced to miss a second straight contest due to his hamstring injury, Chad Beebe will once again return punts while Ameer Abdullah takes back kickoffs.

Osborn (hamstring) is ruled out for Sunday night's contest in Seattle, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Osborn will need to miss at least one week as he works his way back from a hamstring injury. In his stead, Chad Beebe and Ameer Abdullah will likely fill in for him on punt and kick returns, respectively.
