Fairbairn made both of his field-goal attempts and lone extra-point kick in Sundays' 22-13 loss to Indianapolis.

EDGE Analysis

Fairbairn booted field goals from 52 and 46 yards and finished the season with 92 points. When Deshaun Watson (knee) was healthy, Fairbairn became a productive scorer, but his output suffered after the quarterback's season-ending injury. He's got a long leg, making 9-of-11 from beyond 40 yards, including 3-of-4 from outside 50, and should improve in 2018 if Watson comes back healthy and is as productive as he was in 2017.

Fairbairn did not have scoring attempt in Monday's 34-6 loss to the Steelers.

EDGE Analysis

Fairbairn was not called on for a scoring opportunity as the Texans attempted a two-point conversion on their lone touchdown. He has just one point over the last two games and is suffering behind an unproductive offense. There's promise in Week 17 against Indianapolis' 31st-ranked scoring defense, but the offense is a mess and can't be trusted to present Fairbairn with many scoring chances.

Fairbairn did not have a field-goal attempt and made his lone extra-point try in Sundays' 45-7 loss to Jacksonville.

EDGE Analysis

Fairbairn's opportunities to score were severely diminished when quarterback Deshaun Watson (knee) suffered a season-ending injury, and those opportunities became fewer when Tom Savage (concussion) was replaced by the little-used T.J. Yates. It doesn't figure to get any better in a Week 16 matchup against the playoff-hungry Steelers, who rank seventh in scoring defense (19.9 PPG).

Fairbairn missed an extra-point kick and a field-goal attempt in Sunday's 26-16 loss to the 49ers.

EDGE Analysis

Fairbairn has missed four kicks (three FGA, one XPA) over the last two weeks, including a couple of tries inside the 50-yard line in last week's loss to the Titans. Head coach Bill O'Brien gave his beleaguered kicker a vote of confidence following the loss to the Titans and will no doubt have to answer questions this week about the former Lou Groza award winner out of UCLA. At this point, replacing the kicker is not going to matter much. The 4-9 Texans are still in the hunt for a postseason berth, but their chances are at less than one percent entering Week 15 against Jacksonville's top-ranked scoring defense (15.5 PPG).

Texans head coach Bill O'Brien suggested Monday that the team would stick with Fairbairn as its kicker, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports. "He's a good kicker. I have a lot of faith in him," O'Brien said of Fairbairn. "He had a bad day [in Sunday's 24-13 loss to the Titans]. He'll be alright."

EDGE Analysis

Fairbairn had a pair of costly missed field goals Sunday that changed the complexion of the contest, with the attempt he yanked wide left from 23 yards out in the third quarter especially brutal. The first-year kicker at least righted the ship before the end of the game by knocking home a 42-yard attempt, and his solid work on the whole this season looks like it will give him a little leeway before the Texans start working out other options. Through the Texans' 12 games, Fairbairn has connected on 17 of 21 field-goal tries and 29 of 31 extra-point attempts.

Fairbairn converted two of his four field-goal attempts in Sunday's 24-13 loss to the Titans.

EDGE Analysis

Fairbairn had a 48-yard attempt hit the upright, then badly misfired on a 28-yard try that sailed wide left. The misses occurred at critical junctures that could have altered the game's eventual outcome. On balance, the Texans have been pleased with Fairbairn, who has connected on 17-of-21 FGA, but the rookie kicker has missed four of his last 10 tries. All of the misses have come in the last five games with Tom Savage at quarterback. As Houston's offense has regressed since Savage replaced the dynamic Deshaun Watson, any missed opportunity to score hurts.

Fairbairn connected on all three field-goal attempts and his lone extra-point kick in Monday's 23-16 loss to the Ravens.

EDGE Analysis

In an ideal world, the Texans are finishing off drives -- they scored one touchdown in four trips to the red zone -- but those failed drives enabled Fairbairn to post 10 points, a seven-week high. There's been some growing pains on offense since Tom Savage took over for Deshaun Watson (knee), but he's moved the team better the last two games, which has led to more scoring opportunities for Fairbairn.

Fairbairn booted a 34-yard field goal and was successful on all four of his extra-point kicks in Sunday's 31-21 win over the Cardinals.

EDGE Analysis

Fairbairn had shanked field-goal attempts in each of the last two games, but successfully converted all of his kicks in Sunday's win. More importantly for Fairbairn, who had just three points over the previous two games, Houston's offense was the best it's been under Tom Savage. If that keeps up, the second-year placekicker out of UCLA can be a viable kicker.

Fairbairn missed a 34-yard field-goal attempt and make his lone extra--point kick in Sunday's 33-7 loss to the Rams.

EDGE Analysis

Fairbairn has missed two straight field-goal kicks, each from the 30-39 yard range and has scored just three points over the last two games with Tom Savage at quarterback. Whether or not the miss played a large factor in Sunday's loss, we'll never know, but it occurred during the second quarter at a time when the Texans were down 3-0. Playing without Deshaun Watson (knee), Houston's offense has no margin of error, so it's incumbent on Fairbairn to make kicks that are considered chip shots.

Fairbairn was unsuccessful on a 38-yard field goal attempt and made both of his extra-point kicks in Sunday's 20-14 loss to the Colts.

EDGE Analysis

Now that Deshaun Watson (knee) isn't finishing drives and directing a high-powered offense, it's important that Fairbairn make all the make-able field goals he can. Had he made his second-quarter attempt, perhaps Tom Savage wouldn't be in a position of needing a touchdown on the final drive of the game. In losing Watson, the Texans' margin of error was reduced significantly. With Watson, the Texans consistently finished drives, but that's not expected to be case with Savage.
