A fifth-round pick out of Arizona in 2012, Criner hasn't logged an NFL snap since 2013 with the Raiders. The fact that he couldn't make it out of the first round of cuts doesn't bode well for his future in the league.

Criner was waived by the Raiders on Tuesday, Steve Corkran of the Contra Costa Times reports. Criner showed promise in his rookie season of 2012, but he caught just three passes all of last season and did not show enough during camp to stick around in Oakland. Criner is entering his third season, so there is a good chance he finds work with another team.

The Contra Costa Times observes Juron Criner has "far and away" looked like the best receiver on the field at Raiders OTAs. At 6-foot-3 and 221 pounds, Criner is going to catch the eyes of observers in non-contact practices in gym shorts. The third-year receiver has appeared in just 13 career games due to injuries and has just 19 catches for 183 yards and one score to his name. He ended last season on I.R. with a shoulder injury and was active just once. Behind James Jones, the receiver depth chart is wide open.
