"I like our quarterback. ... But Jason is a veteran guy who has played in a lot of offenses and has won a lot of games. I think he can help Andy with some of the knowledge that he's picked up." Dalton has been far from perfect in his three years on the job in Cincinnati, but will continue to have a long leash. Only injury could force Campbell into the lineup.

ESPN Cleveland fully expects the Browns to release Jason Campbell. Campbell, 32, triggered an escalator in his contract because he played 45 percent of the snaps this past season and is now due $3.25 million in 2014. Beat writer Tony Grossi believes that's far too high a price to pay for a guy who was 1-7 as a starter and complained about the cold weather.
