Steve Smith scored for the first time this season, recording three catches for 49 yards to lead the Panthers to a 21-13 victory over the Redskins in Week 9.

Smith out-jumped Josh Wilson for a 19-yard touchdown just before halftime. He went on to draw an end-zone pass interference penalty on Wilson to set up a Cam Newton touchdown run. Smith (7) and Greg Olsen (9) were the only Panthers targeted more than twice, as the offense went conservative while playing with a commanding lead in the second half. Smith is on pace for a 76/1,276/2 stat line heading into Week 10 versus Champ Bailey and the Broncos.
