Coach Pete Carroll acknowledged Friday that Carson (neck) is in danger of missing the rest of the season, though the Seahawks still hope he can "make a turn" and get back on the field this year, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.

Carroll previously mentioned an indefinite timeline, and he's now using terms like "got to make a turn" and "fingers crossed" when discussing a potential return for his starting running back, according to Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle. That's not to say a return in 2021 should be ruled out, but it is clear the Seahawks aren't counting on it. Carson last played Week 4 and currently resides on injured reserve, while Alex Collins (groin), Rashaad Penny, Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas are the current backfield options in Seattle.
