Chargers QB Kyle Boller has decided to retire. The 31-year-old was signed on Friday as a short-term injury replacement for Charlie Whitehurst, but he quickly realized that he wasn't going to get a fair shot at No. 2 duties. Unless he changes his mind, Boller finishes his career with 8,931 passing yards and a 48:54 TD:INT ratio with the Raiders, Rams, and Ravens. The Chargers, meanwhile, will look elsewhere for a veteran stopgap.

Good riddance. Quite possibly the worst QB in the history of the NFL. They didn't mention all his fumbles which was probably his worst stat line.

As a Ravens fan who's originally from Baltimore. Lets just say we have pretty high standards as far as QBs go. (Johnny Unitas brought us championships back in the day.) The retirement of Boller is long over due. Despite his strong arm, I've never seen a player at any position fumble and stumble as much as Kyle did when he was here in B-more. I wish him luck. Though I sure hope he doesn't become an analysist 'cause I'd be afraid he'd stumble through his words and then watching him would become a painful embarrassment.

I am so grateful for Joe Flacco. After dealing with the bumbling, stumbling, fumbling, and tripping of Kyle Boller, how in the world can any Raven fan not appreciate the best QB in the NFL?

Sources say, When Boller went to sign the contract offered by the Chargers, he dropped the pen. As he bent down to pick it up, he tripped over himself, thereby falling to the ground. At that point, the pen flew into the hands of the defense by which the referee blew the whistle and ruled his career dead. Instant replay showed that the pen was indeed intercepted and as a result, Boller concluded his career with a stumbling, fumbling, and bumbling effort that will surely be (forgotten and) buried in the NFL archives.

Don't you remember Ryan Leaf?

Ryan Leaf was a much better QB than Boller. He was just a junkie and a nut case.

Leaf had a disaster of a career! at least Boller played for more than a year or two.

Yeah, but the problem with that is that he was always playing for the opposition. Both careers were disasters. At least Leaf had a bit of talent.
