Cox had three tackles in Sunday's 27-13 win over the Cowboys.
Cox finished the 2016 season with 6.5 sacks, 43 tackles, and a forced fumble in 16 games played. Those totals are down from his 9.5 sacks, 71 tackles, and three forced fumbles in 2015, but he was hobbled by ankle injuries at times during the season. He'll look to rebound with an improved season in 2017.

Cox registered 1.5 sacks and four tackles in Sunday's loss to Washington.
After notching four sacks in the first four games of 2016, this is the first time Cox has gotten to the quarterback since. He's an elite player who hasn't been getting statistical results since early October, but if anyone can have a monstrous end to the season, it certainly could be him.

Cox (ankle) is active for Sunday's Week 6 matchup with the Redskins, Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News reports.
Cox was limited by an ankle injury earlier in the week, but put in a full practice Friday and shouldn't face any snap count restrictions Sunday. The defensive tackle has been a force for the Eagles through the team's first four games, accruing 13 tackles, four sacks and a forced fumble.

Cox recorded three tackles, two sacks, and one forced fumble in Sunday's win over the Steelers.
Cox had a monster performance against one of the more dynamic offenses in the league. The defensive tackle was on the field for 68 percent of the defensive plays and now heads into the bye week with a chance to rest the legs before Week 5's tilt with the Lions.

Cox signed a six-year, $103 million extension with the Eagles on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN.com reports.
The deal includes over $63 million in guaranteed money, making it highest guarantee for a non-quarterback in NFL history. Only 25, Cox attended his first Pro Bowl last season after recording 71 tackles, 9.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles in 2015. The defensive tackle hasn't missed a game in the last three seasons and will look to be a cornerstone of the Eagles' defense in 2016, led by new coordinator Jim Schwartz.

Cox is with the Eagles for the start of the team's mandatory minicamp on Monday, Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Cox missed the first two weeks of voluntary workouts, as well as the Eagles' pre-draft minicamp, in hopes of securing a new, long-term contract. He's yet to get the deal he's looking for, but Cox is with the team for minicamp and isn't expected to miss any time despite the ongoing disagreement. Cox had a very impressive 2015-16 campaign, notching 71 tackles and 9.5 sacks. He also hasn't missed a game over the last three seasons, so he should be in line to see a pay raise in the near future.

Cox is not expected to attend the Eagles' minicamp this week, The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Cox already missed the Eagles' first two weeks of voluntary workouts, and is now likely to skip minicamp as he continues to angle for a new contract. Although the Eagles picked up his fifth-year option for $7.8 million last year, Cox's play could earn him an extension worth up to nine figures, so Cox is likely to remain away from the team while his representatives handle negotiations. One of the league's premier defensive linemen at just 25 years old, Cox totaled a career-best 71 tackles and 9.5 sacks while forcing three fumbles as well last season.

Cox had his biggest game of the season, picking up three sacks, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery in Sunday's 39-17 win over the Saints.
Cox has long been adored by coaches and media types, but his stat sheet explosion against Drew Brees and the Saints could put him on the national radar for good. He dominated a depleted New Orleans offensive line, and has looked stronger with each week after a mediocre Week 1. He's an IDP with strong upside to keep an eye on. As the Eagles' offense improves, the defense will see less extended time on the field, which means fewer drives like they one they allowed against Washington in Week 4 and more opportunities for Cox to burst through offensive lines.

Cox's fifth-year contract option was exercised by the Eagles on Monday, NFL.com reports.
Cox enjoyed a breakout 2014 campaign, totaling 61 tackles and four sacks, despite demanding plenty of attention along the Eagles' defensive line. Such development resulted in Philadelphia coach Chip Kelly deeming Cox as team MVP last season, so it's hardly surprising that the 2012 first-rounder will now remain with the Eagles for at least another season.

Cox finished the 2014 season with 61 tackles and four sacks.
Cox also finished with eight tackles for a loss and a fumble returned for a touchdown. Cox has been strong in two of his three seasons, with his struggles mostly occurring in 2013. Cox played especially well in the second half of 2014, totaling seven tackles for loss and all four of his sacks in the final eight weeks. He'll probably struggle to establish top-32 IDP status on the defensive line, but Cox is locked into a lead role for Philadelphia. His 921 snaps were almost 300 more than the next closest Eagles defensive lineman (Cedric Thornton, 640).
