Smith was removed from the NFL's concussion protocol and will play Sunday against Green Bay, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

EDGE Analysis

Smith seemed to be trending in the right direction in his recovery from the concussion after logging a full practice Wednesday, and he apparently passed tests administered by an independent neurologist to get the green light for the Week 13 matchup. He'll likely rotate in at left guard with Kevin Pamphile during the contest.

Smith (concussion) practiced at full speed Wednesday and is in line for Sunday's game against the Packers, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Smith often rotates with Kevin Pamphile at left guard, and that should be expected in Week 13's matchup as well.

Smith (concussion) is listed as out for Sunday's Week 12 tilt against the Falcons.

EDGE Analysis

The Buccaneers' starting left guard was knocked out of the Week 11 victory over the Dolphins with the concussion, and he wasn't able to make any appearances in practice this week. Kevin Pamphile, who filled in for Smith when he exited last week's contest, will man left guard in his stead against the Falcons.

Smith has been diagnosed with a concussion and won't return to Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.

EDGE Analysis

Smith has been placed in the league's concussion protocol, and Kevin Pamphile will slot in at left guard for the time being. Pamphile often rotates in at left guard even when Smith is healthy, so this won't shake up the offensive dynamic much.

EDGE Analysis

Depending on the results of this evaluation, Smith may be placed into the league's concussion protocol. For the time being, though, the experienced Kevin Pamphile will slot into the left guard position.

Smith (illness) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bears, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Smith was a limited participant in practice Friday after sitting out Thursday. Practicing in the Friday session is good news for the 31-year-old, who will likely fill a reserve role at center/guard if he is able to play Sunday.

Smith (illness) missed practice Thursday, the team's official site reports.

EDGE Analysis

The versatile 31-year-old joined linebacker Kwon Alexander as players affected by illness Thursday, although the latter was at least able to turn in a limited session. Smith is a valuable backup at both guard spots, so the Bucs' offensive line depth would certainly take a hit should he be unable to take the field in Week 2.

Smith, who started at center and both guard spots last season, received a $1 million roster bonus Wednesday, essentially guaranteeing his return in 2017, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

EDGE Analysis

The versatile 30-year-old had been rumored to be a potential salary-cap cut this offseason, but Wednesday's bonus payment put that possibility to rest. Smith will thus play out the final season of his four-year contract with the Bucs in 2017 and is expected to at a minimum serve as a valuable backup along the interior of the offensive line. Smith is even a candidate to compete for the starting center job he'd held in 2014, but Tampa also re-signed Joe Hawley later Wednesday, who held down that role last season when healthy.
