Royster (ribs) has been waived/injured by the Falcons, AJC.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Royster, who's dealing with a rib injury, has been waived by Atlanta in order to make room for the incoming veteran quarterback Rex Grossman. Royster hasn't scored since 2012, and it looks like that trend will continue in 2015.

Royster has reportedly been released by the Redskins, csnwashington.com reports. The report adds that Chris Thompson and Lache Seastrunk were also cut, which sets the stage for Silas Redd to remain in the mix behind Alfred Morris and Roy Helu.

Redskins RB Evan Royster is expected to be on the roster bubble in 2014 training camp. Washington's No. 3 back behind Alfred Morris and Roy Helu, Royster earned all of two carries last season before landing on injured reserve with a December ankle injury. Royster was an ineffective special teamer, a critical role for third-string running backs. Expect 2013 late-round draft picks Chris Thompson and/or Jawan Jamison to push hard for Royster's 2014 roster spot.

Redskins placed RB Evan Royster on injured reserve with an ankle injury, ending his season. Royster's Week 14 injury appeared significant on the field, as he could put no weight on the limb afterwards. A thoroughly underwhelming talent whose prospective fantasy value was always tied directly to the Shanahans' running scheme, Royster will be no lock to make Washington's 53-man roster in 2014.

Evan Royster was forced from Sunday's game against the Chiefs with an ankle injury. Royster could put no weight on his ankle as he was helped off the field, and was immediately carted to the locker room. It had the looks of a serious injury. Seeing time at fullback with Darrel Young inactive, Royster had one catch for three yards before going down.

Evan Royster has appeared in just seven games this season, recording zero carries. He's Washington's No. 3 tailback behind Alfred Morris and Roy Helu, who have both stayed healthy. Royster hasn't so much as played an offensive snap this year. He does have one tackle on special teams, but isn't a core special teamer for Washington. Royster is under contract for $645,000 in 2014.

The Washington Post projects Evan Royster to lose his roster spot to Keiland Williams. Ouch. Royster was the Redskins' nominal third-down back last season, but failed to make any sort of a positive impact. Williams appeared in 14 games between the Redskins and Lions, but notched just two carries. Both players contribute on special teams. The Post also has the Redskins cutting rookies Jawan Jamison and Chris Thompson.

Redskins RB Evan Royster has 14 carries for 62 yards in the preseason. Royster is expected to make the 53 because he plays on special teams, but he lacks fantasy value. Red-hot Roy Helu is the handcuff to Alfred Morris.

Redskins coach Mike Shanahan was "really impressed" with Evan Royster and Roy Helu's performances in Thursday's preseason opener.

The Washington Post confirms Redskins third-year RB Evan Royster is on the roster bubble in training camp. Royster was seen as the favorite to start in many circles for much of 2012 training camp, but Alfred Morris ran with the tailback job and is now entrenched. Royster offers little passing-down ability, and does not contribute on special teams. The Redskins also added two running backs in April's draft.
