Jets declared CB Donald Strickland, CB Isaiah Trufant, C Colin Baxter, QB Kevin O'Connell, RB Bilal Powell, WR Logan Payne and DE Ropati Pitoitua inactive for Week 6 against the Dolphins. As expected, C Nick Mangold (ankle) is active and in the starting lineup for the second straight week. The fact that Baxter is amongst the inactives is a good indication Mangold's injury is a dead issue. The Jets will be thin at cornerback with both Trufant and Strickland missing, but it should only be an issue if Darrelle Revis, Antonio Cromartie or Kyle Wilson go down with injury.

Jets CBs Donald Strickland (concussion) and Isaiah Trufant (hamstring) have been declared out for Week 6. It should be a minor issue for the Jets as long as Darrelle Revis, Antonio Cromartie and Kyle Wilson are able to stay on the field against the Dolphins. Strickland should be back in Week 7, though Trufant could be sidelined longer with what's been described as a "significant" hamstring injury.

Jets CB Donald Strickland (head) is expected to miss Monday's game against the Dolphins. Fellow backup Isaiah Trufant is also likely out, so the Jets have seen the bottom of their roster thin out in the secondary. Their absences shouldn't have much of an impact against the Dolphins.

Jets CB Donald Strickland left Sunday's game late in the third quarter with a head injury. This may not be a concussion, as Strickland seemed fine walking to the locker room. With 13 minutes left in the game, Strickland's return has been deemed questionable.

Jets signed CB Donald Strickland. Cut loose by the Chargers on Thursday, Strickland appeared in nine games for the Jets in 2009, notching 26 tackles and two sacks. A career backup, Strickland is purely a depth signing, and probably isn't even guaranteed of cracking the Jets' 53-man roster at age 30.

Chargers released CB Donald Strickland. The move saved $765,000 in salary. The Chargers added two corners in the draft and re-signed Dante Hughes, making Strickland expendable. The 30-year-old career nickel back was a liability before losing his slot corner job late last season.
