In The Spotlight - Week 11 Recap fantasysharks.com Mon 11/19/12 4:00 AM

Week 11 Fantasy Headlines: Matt Schaub Racks Up 527 Passing Yards & 5 TD Passes AJ Compiles Career-High 14 Catches and 273 Receiving Yards Chad Henne & Justin Blackmon Both Compile Monster Outings Brady & Patriots Roll Over Colts; Gronkowski Injured "The Arm" Torches Philadelphia With 4 TD Passes Arian Foster's Scoring Streak Snapped Matt Ryan Tosses Five Picks and No TDs But Falcons Still Win Another 130-Plus Total-Yard Game From Trent Richardson A.J. Green Scores In His Ninth Straight Game GAME SUMMARIES & FANTASY COMMENTARY: Bye week: Minnesota Vikings (6-4), New York Giants (6-4), Seattle Seahawks (6-4) and Tennessee Titans (4-6). THURSDAY NIGHT GAME: Buffalo Bills 19 (4-6) | Miami Dolphins 14 (4-6) Fantasy Focus -- Bills: Buffalo did not score an offensive touchdown. With Fred Jackson (concussion) inactive, electric C.J. Spiller (22-91-0 rushing and 3-39-0 receiving) carried the offense, amassing 130 total yards on a season-high 25 total touches. Unfortunately, the Bills frequently replaced Spiller in the red zone with the largely ineffective Tashard Choice (6-14-0 rushing and 1-0-0 receiving). With the running game clicking and the much-maligned Buffalo defense playing well, the Bills elected to go conservative on offense. Ryan Fitzpatrick (17/27 for 168-0-0 passing and 3-15-0 rushing) has not tossed a touchdown pass in two of his last three games played, and it was the fifth time this season that Fitzpatrick passed for less than 200 yards in a game. Steve Johnson (6-79-0 on nine targets) topped Buffalo in receiving, and he has caught six balls in two straight contests. Fitzpatrick tried to get the ball to Donald Jones (2-11-0 on five targets) twice in the end zone, but they didn't hook up. The Bills triggerman also had a red-zone pass intended for Scott Chandler (2-30-0 on four targets) broken up. The Buffalo defense allowed seven offense points and racked up three sacks, two interceptions and one recovered fumble. Leodis McKelvin scored on a 79-yard punt return in the first quarter. Fantasy Tip: Although the Bills are trying to get the ball into the hands of Jones more frequently, I wouldn't trust him as anything more than a so-so WR4 right now. The Buffalo offense should reassert itself in Week 12 with a favorable road matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. Fantasy Focus -- Dolphins: Remember all the predictions about Reggie Bush (10-20-0 rushing and 2-15-0 receiving) coming out and playing like a man on a mission after he ...

Audibles Week 3: Scenarios to watch fantasysharks.com Wed 9/19/12 9:00 AM2 Comments

Week 2's surprises are over and I'm personally glad. We saw how bad teams like the Chiefs and Raiders are. I keep wondering why folks see value in players on these teams. Is it because guys like Dwayne Bowe get big stats in complete garbage time? I just can't bear to watch either of these teams play. I guess it doesn't matter when your stats come as long as they do. I still don't buy into owning players from either one of situations. Sure you can make a case a couple times a year, like bye weeks, that starting someone from one of these teams makes sense. Okay you can make a case for two offensive players, but that's about all. I'm making a case to watch the Red Zone channel only. That way I can avoid all the mistakes that the scrub referee's make. Oh wait, these turds are everywhere in games, on the Red Zone channel, and in Steven Jackson's dreams. It's a bad situation when you have to turn to a guy like Mike Perreira who looks like Barry Weiss from TV's Storage Wars for an explanation of what the rule is. I better get to Week 3 scenarios before someone knocks me off my soapbox. My Week 3 Audibles The Buffalo Bills have seen a few stars go down in the last two weeks. After David Nelson went down, one could guess that it would be Donald Jones to get the bulk of the work opposite Stevie Johnson. Wait a minute here folks. It seems that the additional work is going the direction of TE- Scott Chandler. It makes perfect sense to me now... Take Chandler this week vs. a Cleveland Browns defense that ranks 23rd against the tight end. I like this match up and Chandler has already notched two TD's on six catches. He was targeted over five times each week thus far. If you have an injury, I have your solution. I can go on about size and hands, but it may sound too much like your dating career and I just can't go there now. Grab Chandler as he is available in better than 85% of leagues. Cheap- Cheap for now. I gave you a couple of receivers last week to look at in Andrew Hawkins and Andre Roberts. I was disappointed in the targets and yardage totals, but they both found the end zone. I still have confidence in both, but Armon Binns has climbed into my head and he won't leave. That sounds like a confessional that would require me to relax and lay back in a leather chair equipped with an ottoman. So just as I thought that it could be Hawkins emerging as the perfect compliment to A.J. Green, here comes Binns. After 10 targets in the last two weeks, I ...

Week 6 Fantasy Intelligence Report: News Nuggets, Reactions, and th... fantasysharks.com Sat 10/15/11 12:30 PM

N.N. -- News Nuggets Brace yourself. The change at quarterback is finally being made in Denver. Tim Tebow will be the new starting quarterback. And for all you haters out there, who want to rip apart his mechanics, as if he has to fit the mold of every other star quarterback not named Michael Vick, listen up. According to the Denver Post, head of football operations John Elway is excited about the energy Tebow is already bringing to the Broncos team, something that I imagine will translate on the gridiron. "Inside this building, we're aware of the type of energy and passion he brings to so many people," said John Elway, the Broncos' football operations boss. "He's the type of guy where everybody wants to see him succeed. Believe me, he has no bigger fan than me or John Fox inside this building. Now we have to do whatever we can as a team to help Tim be successful." Elway went on to say on the NFL Network‘s Total Access show that, "Tim adds a great spark for us, so we're looking forward to seeing what he can do." Yes sir. Tebow is finally going to arrive and it may be for good. And I suggest that no matter what your fantasy record is, that you pick him up. You just never know what kind of value he could truly provide as the season progresses. Denver is on a bye this week. In Buffalo, Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick will be without one of his prime targets for four to six weeks. According to the Buffalo News No. 2 wide receiver Donald Jones suffered a high-ankle sprain during Sunday's win over the Eagles. Jones has been a key downfield ingredient during the 2011 rise of the Bills aerial attack, so offensive coordinator Chan Gailey will have to creatively find ways to stretch the field. "We'll work some different ways to get that done. I think we can do it with our packages," Gailey said. "I'm not sure we need to have any knee-jerk reaction to try and find somebody today, but if somebody comes along who looks like they might fit, we're always trying to upgrade our football team." "It's all hands on deck this week, and maybe for the next few weeks," the coach said. Naaman Roosevelt replaced Jones on Sunday, and finished with a career-high five catches. "Naaman stepped up and did a good job and made some good catches for us. That's what being in the NFL is about -- taking advantage of your opportunities," quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick said. Overall, there is no panic though, as the Bills offense has shown no let up despite the personnel changes. "...
