Hester announced Tuesday that he is retiring from professional football.
EDGE Analysis
Hester retired as arguably the greatest return specialist to ever play in the NFL, posting 14 career punt returns for touchdowns and five touchdowns on kick returns. He also had three seasons where he managed to return at least three punt returns for touchdowns. Hester spent majority of his career with the Bears, but he also ended up playing short stints with the Falcons, Ravens and Seahawks.

The Seahawks are reportedly signing Hester for their upcoming playoff run, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports according to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer.
EDGE Analysis
Hester played 12 games with the Ravens this season before being waived on Dec. 13. The veteran returner's future was in question following the release, but he will get another shot providing a spark for the Seahawks' this postseason. With Tyler Lockett injured, the team has opted to look outside of the box by signing Hester. He racked up 466 kickoff return yards and 180 punt return yards for the Ravens this season, but also fumbled the ball five times, losing one.

Hester was waived by the Ravens on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Hester failed to call for a fair catch in the Ravens' first offensive possession of Monday's loss to the Patriots, which ultimately led to a safety after the Patriots downed the ball on the one-yard line. The mistake seemed to be the final straw for the veteran returner, as the team promoted wide receiver and return specialist Michael Campanaro (calf) on Tuesday. Hester, who is arguably the best return specialist in NFL history, may have trouble finding another stint, as many will question how much the 34-year-old has left in the tank. In 12 games with the Ravens, the he racked up 466 kickoff return yards and 180 punt return yards while fumbling the ball five time, with only one fumble lost.

Hester (thigh) is listed as active Sunday versus the Jets in New York.
EDGE Analysis
After logging a DNP last Sunday, Hester will return to the fore as the Ravens' primary return option, looking to build upon a 28.8-yard average kick return this season.

Hester (thigh) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets after logging a full practice Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Hester, who was inactive last Sunday, was absent from practice due to a thigh issue prior to Friday's full session, but that late-week involvement could be enough for him to face the Jets. While his status will need to be confirmed one way or the other Sunday, Hester's contributions have been restricted to special teams work in Baltimore.

Hester (thigh) did not participate at Wednesday's practice, Garrett Downing of the Ravens' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hester has not practiced since doing so on a limited basis last Wednesday, so his prospects don't look promising for Week 7's matchup with the Jets. If the veteran Hester is unable to suit up, expect Ladarius Webb and Chris Moor to fill his role in the return game.

Hester (thigh) is listed as inactive Sunday against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Hester missed practice both Thursday and Friday, so he was a long shot to suit up for Sunday's contest. Ladarius Webb and Chris Moore are both potential candidates to fill in for Hester in the return game.

Hester (thigh) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Hester was listed as questionable with a thigh injury the past two weeks, ultimately able to play both times. He's probably one bad game away from losing his job, as he's made some poor decisions while fielding punts, and has also fumbled on two of his 18 returns. Considering he's strictly a return specialist -- with no value on offense or other special teams units -- he needs to perform at a high level to justify the use of a roster spot. Replacement options in the return game include S Lardarius Webb, CB Tavon Young, WR Chris Moore and RBs Kenneth Dixon and Terrance West

Hester (thigh) did not participate in practice Thursday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The return specialist went from limited participation on Wednesday to no participation Thursday, which isn't a reassuring sign that he'll be on the field this Sunday against the Giants. However, the veteran has played through the aliment the past couple of weeks, so his absence from Thursday's practice could simply be the team taking a precautionary measure to assure he'll be ready to go for Week 6. Look for more updates to come as kickoff approaches with Lardarius Webb and Chris Moore likely to share return responsibilities if Hester is ultimately ruled out.

Hester (thigh) is active for Sunday's Week 5 tilt versus the Redskins.
EDGE Analysis
The dynamic return specialist could get a decent amount of work in the return game in a game projected to be a back-and-forth contest. Hester flashed some of his trademark skills on in Week 4 versus the Raiders with a 60-yard kickoff runback and has logged 305 combined yards on kickoff and punt returns this season overall.
