Davis will take a $2.7 million pay cut for the upcoming season, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Davis was traded from the Browns to the Jets at the start of June, but in order for the deal to be completed, he had to take a significant pay cut. Originally expected to make $3.7 million, Davis is now expected to pull in just $1 million, although there are some incentives worked into the deal where he could make some of that money back. The Jets recently released middle linebacker David Harris, so Davis is one of a few different options to potentially take over his spot in the lineup.

Davis was traded to the Browns in exchange for safety Calvin Pryor on Thursday, Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

The Browns have elected to ship away their second-leading tackler from 2016, as Davis racked up 99 tackles after signing as a free agent before the season. Davis will likely provide depth at inside linebacker out of the gate for the Jets, but could compete for Darron Lee's starting spot at right inside linebacker.

Davis forced a fumble and posted 10 tackles Sunday against the Cowboys.

EDGE Analysis

Davis posted at least nine tackles for the third time this season, and he's averaging seven per game. He also has a forced fumble and a pair of passes defensed this year, but he's a borderline IDP option at linebacker in most leagues.

Davis has signed a two-year deal with the Browns worth $8 million, the Cleveland Plain-Dealer reports.

EDGE Analysis

Davis figures to compete for a starting job at inside linebacker with the Browns, along with Chris Kirksey and Karlos Dansby. The 27-year-old Davis, who should bolster the Browns' run defense in 2016, recorded 90 tackle sand two sacks in 16 starts for the Jets this past season.

Davis recorded two sacks along with 90 tackles in 2015.

EDGE Analysis

After posting consecutive seasons with at least 107 tackles, Davis fell off and only recorded 90 this season despite playing in all 16 games. He'll be a free agent this offseason and he'll likely find a landing spot as an inside linebacker, allowing him to pile up tackles.

Jets coach Rex Ryan confirmed 2012 third-round pick Demario Davis will be a starter in his second season.

He'll take Bart Scott's place next to David Harris. "He's our No. 1 WILL linebacker on our depth chart," Ryan said of Davis. "Clearly Demario is a guy we feel very good about." Davis primarily played in nickel packages last season, amassing 36 tackles across 16 games. He'll be on the LB3 radar in IDP leagues.

ESPN New York expects Demario Davis to replace Bart Scott as a starting inside linebacker in 2013.

Scott is fully expected to be released along with OLB Calvin Pace. That leaves Davis, a 2012 third-round pick that will provide an upgrade in athleticism. He projects to give IDP owners more than the 60 tackles, 2.5 sacks and one interception Scott provided last season.
