McCaffrey (thigh) wasn't on the field for the media-access portion of Wednesday's practice, Bill Voth of the Panthers' official site reports.

EDGE Analysis

With McCaffrey likely to be deemed a non-participant in the session, the chances of him suiting up Sunday against Washington don't look especially bright at this time. As long as he remains on Carolina's active roster, however, the door remains open for the running back to see action before the 2020 campaign ends.

Coach Matt Rhule hopes that McCaffrey (thigh) can practice Wednesday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.

EDGE Analysis

Per David Newton of ESPN.com, if McCaffrey is able to return to practice Wednesday, he'll continue to be evaluated through the week before a call on his status for Sunday's game against Washington is made. If McCaffrey remains sidelined Week 16, Mike Davis would continue to head Carolina's backfield this weekend, with Rodney Smith and Trenton Cannon in the mix to see complementary work.

McCaffrey (thigh) is inactive for Saturday's game against the Packers.

EDGE Analysis

McCaffrey is thus in line to miss a fifth consecutive contest and his 11th overall this season. In his absence, Mike Davis will continue to head the Panthers' backfield on Saturday. Per David Newton of ESPN.com, coach Matt Rhule hopes that McCaffrey can play next weekend against Washington.

McCaffrey (thigh), who is still officially listed as doubtful, will not play Saturday against the Packers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

EDGE Analysis

This was hardly a surprise to anyone, but it reaffirms the lead role will once again belong to Mike Davis, this time in a juicy matchup against the susceptible Packers run defense. It's worth noting the Panthers have not officially downgraded McCaffrey, but it certainly appears to be trending in that direction. Schefter suggested McCaffrey still wants to play at some point this season, but with just two games left to go and the Panthers out of the playoff race, it's possible the 24-year-old could be shut down for the rest of the season.

McCaffrey (thigh) is listed as doubtful for Saturday's game at Green Bay, Alaina Getzenberg of The Charlotte Observer reports.

EDGE Analysis

McCaffrey followed the same exact regimen last week before the Panthers ruled him out: limited to kick off the practice week, followed by no activity the next two days before receiving a doubtful tag. As a result, he's in line to miss a fifth consecutive contest and 11th overall this season. In McCaffrey's stead, look for Mike Davis to lead the Panthers backfield yet again.

McCaffrey (thigh) isn't taking part in Thursday's practice, Alaina Getzenberg of The Charlotte Observer reports.

EDGE Analysis

As of Wednesday, Panthers head coach Matt Rhule was still leaving the door open for McCaffrey to put an end to a four-game absence Saturday at Green Bay, but the running back's chances of playing appear to be dimming by the day. After opening the week as a limited participant in practice Tuesday, McCaffrey has now failed to take any reps two days in a row. The Panthers will officially give McCaffrey a designation later Thursday, when the team releases its final Week 15 injury report.

Coach Matt Rhule said McCaffrey (thigh) could return for the Panthers' Week 16 matchup with Washington, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

There's no need to read between the lines for Week 15, as Rhule already said McCaffrey isn't expected to play Saturday in Green Bay. McCaffrey was downgraded from limited practice participation Tuesday to non-participation Wednesday, which all but confirms that Mike Davis as the team's lead back for another week. The Panthers don't yet have any plans to shut McCaffrey down, so he should be out there Week 16 or 17 if he's deemed healthy enough to play.

McCaffrey (thigh) didn't practice Wednesday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.

EDGE Analysis

Coach Matt Rhule already said he doesn't expect McCaffrey to return for Saturday's game against the Packers, though the running back was a limited participant in Tuesday's practice. McCaffrey followed a similar path last week, kicking things off with a limited session Wednesday before sitting out entirely Thursday and Friday. He was then ruled out on the final injury report, allowing Mike Davis to make his 10th start of the year. The Panthers are now preparing Davis for start No. 11.

Coach Matt Rhule doesn't expect McCaffrey (thigh) to return for Saturday's game at Green Bay, Alaina Getzenberg of The Charlotte Observer reports.

EDGE Analysis

McCaffrey kicked off last week with a limited practice before the Panthers held him out thereafter and eventually made him inactive for the 10th time in 13 games this season. He also had a cap on his reps at Wednesday's walk-through, which may have served as a test to see what he could do with his thigh injury. Considering Rhule's statement, McCaffrey seems likely to be sidelined this weekend, giving him two more chances to play this season. In McCaffrey's place, Mike Davis again is slated to lead the Panthers backfield.

The Panthers are optimistic that McCaffrey (shoulder/thigh) will practice Tuesday and have a chance to suit up in Green Bay on Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

EDGE Analysis

McCaffrey hasn't suited up for a regular-season game since Week 9, and he's made only three appearances on the field all year. It looks as though the do-it-all running back at least has a shot to contribute against Green Bay, but fantasy managers will need to keep a close eye on his practice status. Mike Davis would figure to start again if McCaffrey can't go.
