Owens (undisclosed) has been placed on injured reserve, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Owens was to compete for the Lions' slot corner job. With Darius Slay, Rashean Mathis and Josh Wilson all but assured to make the team and rookie Alex Carter a candidate for short-term injured reserve, expect Owens'designation to mean that two of Quandre Diggs, Nevin Lawson and Crezdon Butler will make the final team.

The Lions have signed Owens, the Detroit News reports. With the Lions, look for Owens -- who recorded 33 tackles in 11 games with the Chiefs last season -- to compete for nickel back slotting with Josh Wilson, Bill Bentley, Nevin Lawson, as well as rookies Alex Carter and Quandre Diggs.

Owens (knee) is officially questionable for Sunday's game against the Seahawks. Owens was active last week against the Bills, but didn't participate in practice either Thursday or Friday. He seems to be trending in the wrong direction for Sunday's contest.

Owens (knee) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Bills. With nine tackles in five games to date, Owens is off the fantasy radar, but his return does bolster the Chiefs' cornerback depth.

Owens (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Bills. Owens missed the last two games because of the injury he suffered against the 49ers before the bye week. He appears to be a candidate to return Sunday, as he was a limited participant in practice all week.

Owens (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Rams, BJ Kissel of the Chiefs' official site reports. Owens is still dealing with an LCL and bone bruise issue dating back to Week 5 against the 49ers. It will cause him to miss his third straight game, with Phillip Gaines and Jamell Fleming again expected to pick up the slack in his place.

Owens (knee) won't play Sunday against the Chargers, Adam Teicher of ESPN reports. As expected, Owens won't play Sunday due to a strained LCL and a bone bruise. Phillip Gaines and Jamell Fleming appear to be the top candidates to receive extra snaps in his absence.

Owens (knee) didn't practice again Thursday and is expected to miss Sunday's game, ESPN reports. Owens' sprained LCL and bone bruise are coming along slowly, leaving him most likely doubtful for Sunday's game. If he does sit, Phillip Gaines and Jamell Fleming are the favorites to start at the nickel cornerback spot.
