Henne started three games this season, throwing for 492 yards and three touchdowns, before giving way to rookie Blake Bortles. The veteran, who started most of 2013, was originally slated to be the starter for the entire 2014 season as the Jaguars' groomed Bortles. However, after two-and-a-half shaky performances, Jacksonville made the call to hand the rookie the reins, relegating Henne to clipboard duty for the remainder of the season. Though Bortles by no means dazzled, he wasn't a complete disaster, and as a high first round pick he's essentially guaranteed to open 2015 as the starter. Henne, who is under contract through next season, will likely return as the backup.

Henne completed 4-of-7 passes for 33 yards and was sacked three times before he was pulled after the first half Sunday against the Colts. Henne entered Week 3 under heavy criticism for his poor showing a week earlier against Washington (14-for-28, 10 sacks), and didn't do anything to quiet his doubters. With the Jaguars trailing 30 points to start the third quarter, coach Gus Bradley will turn to rookie Blake Bortles and see if he can provide a spark to the Jaguars' dormant offense.

Henne will start Sunday's game against the Colts, the Jaguars' official site reports. The report confirms coach Gus Bradley's comments Monday that suggested such an outcome. While the team is sticking with Henne this weekend rather than turning to rookie Blake Bortles, there will be some personnel shuffling on the Jags' offensive line, after Henne was sacked 10 times in this past Sunday's 41-10 loss to Washington.

Henne remains the Jaguars' starting QB, per coach Gus Bradley, the team's official site reports. "If you're asking me right now, yeah, Chad Henne's our starter," Bradley said Monday in the wake of the Jaguars' 41-10 loss to Washington in Week 2. Though Henne completed 14-of-28 passes for 193 yards and a touchdown with an interception in Sunday's loss, while absorbing 10 sacks, Bradley said afterward that there was never any thought of playing No. 3 overall pick Blake Bortles in Week 2. "I still feel very strongly about Chad," Bradley said. That said, while Henne remains on track to start Sunday's game against the Colts, it's plausible that a subpar effort in that contest could alter the Jaguars' plan to keep Bortles in a backup role.

Henne completed 14-of-28 passes for 193 yards and a touchdown, but he also threw an interception and was sacked 10 times. The Jaguars offense was an absolute mess and the defense allowed 21 points half-way through the second quarter, which meant they had to abandon the run before they could get any kind of rhythm going. Henne connected with six different receivers, with his lone-touchdown coming on a 63-yard pass-and-run to tight end Marcedes Lewis. Without that play, Henne would have finished 13-for-27 for 130 yards. The fans may start calling for Blake Bortles, who the Jags selected with the third-overall pick in this year's draft, but with the way the offensive line has played this season, there's no reason to think Bortles will be much better than Henne.

Henne completed 24-of-43 passes for 266 yards and two touchdowns Sunday against the Eagles. Henne threw both of his touchdowns in the first quarter to undrafted free agent rookie wideout Allen Hurns, and the Jaguars were shockingly up 17-0 at halftime thanks to Henne's excellent play. Unfortunately, it was all down hill from there, as the Jaguars failed to score again and lost 34-17. The Jaguars have plenty of question marks at wide receiver this year, with Justin Blackmon suspended indefinitely and Cecil Shorts out with a hamstring injury, but if Hurns can continue his solid play, it'll go a long way to helping Henne keep the starting job over Blake Bortles, who the Jags selected with the third overall pick in this year's draft.

Speaking after Friday's preseason game against the Lions, Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley reiterated that Henne will be the team's Week 1 starter, NFL.com reports. Henne completed 9-of-14 passes for 70 yards, turning in a sup-par and uninteresting performance. Bortles provided far more entertainment by going 10-for-16 with 158 yards and a touchdown, but his night would have been much different had the Lions defenders made more of their multiple interception opportunities. Still, Bortles has been the better of the two this preseason, yet the Jags are sticking to their word. The team previously indicated that it wants Bortles to be a spectator for most of his rookie season, and while that may still be true, Henne will likely test their patience. It would be one thing to sit through an entire season of Henne's struggles if Bortles had looked awful this preseason, but it will be hard to justify after the rookie played with surprising poise.

Henne completed 12-of-17 passes for 130 yards in Thursday's preseason game against the Bears. Following a lousy preseason opener, Henne was rather efficient against the shaky Chicago defense. The Jags have indicated that they want Blake Bortles to sit on the bench for most -- if not all -- of the season. However, the rookie is looking good through two preseason games, while Henne lacks any sort of upside. Bortles is a long shot to start early in the year, but Henne still shouldn't be drafted with the expectation that he'll play 16 games, or even close to it.

Henne completed four-of-seven passes for 30 yards in Friday's preseason opener against the Bucs. Henne had a quiet quarter of drives, though the Jags did get into field-goal range twice, only to watch botched shotgun snaps end both drives. According to WFTV's Joe Kepner, Henne bore at least some of the responsibility for the pair of failed snaps. The Jags were without Cecil Shorts (hamstring), Allen Robinson (hamstring), Mike Brown (hamstring) and Ace Sanders (personal), leaving Henne with little to work with besides second-round rookie Marqise Lee. Though the Jags started to move the ball better once Blake Bortles entered the game, Henne is widely expected to open the regulars season as the starter, even if he's outplayed this preseason. Of course, that could change if the first-team offense continues to looks this bad.

Chad Henne has been given the green light to audible as much as he wants. Now in his second year in OC Jedd Fisch's scheme, Henne is getting plenty of leash. "If we have to throw it every down because they're giving so many guys at the line of scrimmage, we'll throw it," said the veteran bridge to Blake Bortles. Henne gets a little boost with the addition of Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson, but this is still a backup-caliber player operating a ball-control offense. Even owners in two-QB leagues should be aiming higher.
