Greenway will announce his retirement from the NFL on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Greenway, a first-round pick out of Iowa in 2006, spent his entire career in Minnesota, where he was named the team's Defensive MVP in 2010, 2012 and 2013. Along with earning two Pro-Bowl selections as well, Greenway finishes fourth in Vikings history with 1,334 career tackles. In fact, the 34-year-old registered at least 93 stops in each of his first eight NFL seasons, showing great consistency that is further exemplified by the fact that he missed merely four games over his 10-year career.

Greenway traveled to Detroit and is active for Thursday's game against the Lions despite the impending birth of his child, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Greenway said he could miss Thursday's game at Detroit if his wife gave birth to the couple's fourth child before the game. He'll start but may not get significant playing time as he's likely to come off the field in passing situations with Eric Kendricks healthy.

Greenway is expected to have a larger role on defense with Eric Kendricks out with a concussion, as he'll stay on the field in nickel situations, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
While Greenway is a starting linebacker, he's only been playing about 30 percent of the snaps on defense as he'd come off the field in passing situations for another defensive back. Audie Cole is likely to start at middle linebacker in place of Kendricks, but Cole is likely to be the one to come off the field in passing situations.

Greenway played a career-low two snaps on defense in Monday's win over the Giants, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Greenway isn't on the field in passing situations, and the Vikings are working to manage the playing time of the 33-year-old. He won't be a factor for IDP leagues unless he's pushed into a larger role due to injuries.

The Vikings and Greenway agreed to a one-year contract Thursday, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Greenway thus confirmed his offseason intentions to play one more season and complete his career with one organization. While his usage tumbled to 59 percent of the defensive snaps in 2015, he fared well in his move to weak-side linebacker, yielding 68 tackles (55 solo), 2.5 sacks, and one interception for a touchdown for IDP pursuits.
