Shorts gathered in two of five targets for 38 yards in Sunday's 36-10 win over the Bears.
EDGE Analysis
Shorts continues to crawl out of his personal hole that saw him record just one catch over the first four games in which he was active. He now has three receptions over the last two games for 58 yards, although he's been far from efficient, as he's needed nine targets to secure that tally. However, there's room for plenty of growth production-wise for Shorts, given that the Bucs' wide receiver depth chart remains considerably thin beyond Mike Evans.

Shorts hauled in one of four targets for 20 yards in Thursday's 43-28 loss to the Falcons.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran receiver finally got back on the stat sheet after having been shut out the last two weeks. Shorts had been considered a natural fit as a veteran addition considering his resume and past experience in head coach Dirk Koetter's offense, but he's managed only two receptions while also missing over a month due to a hamstring injury. With Mike Evans in the concussion protocol after sustaining a hit late in Thursday's game, the Bucs need Shorts to begin generating the caliber of production he's proven capable of in the past in order to give the passing game a fighting chance.

Shorts received the start in Sunday's 34-17 victory over the 49ers but received zero targets on 31 snaps, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran receiver's complete absence from the box score was the biggest surprise to come out of Sunday's victory, given Shorts' experience and solid resume as both an inside and outside receiver. It was surprisingly special teams captain Russell Shepard, he of the three career receptions heading into the Week 7 contest, that filled the void created by Vincent Jackson's (knee) absence, converting six targets into five catches for 77 yards and his first career touchdown. However, considering Shorts' previous body of work, it's safe to consider Sunday's result an outlier, one that the veteran wideout is likely to start putting behind him in a Week 8 matchup against a beatable Raiders secondary.

Shorts (hamstring) is active for Sunday's Week 7 tilt versus the Niners.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran wideout gets first crack at replacing the sidelined Vincent Jackson (knee) opposite Mike Evans. Shorts' experience playing both inside and outside in past seasons figures to help him flourish in the role against a highly vulnerable Niners secondary.

Shorts (hamstring) is expected to start at wide receiver opposite Mike Evans during Sunday's game against the 49ers, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Despite Shorts being listed as questionable heading into the weekend, coach Dirk Koetter plans to fill Vincent Jackson's (knee) vacancy in the starting lineup with Shorts. This would leave Adam Humphries and Russell Shepard as the No. 3 and No. 4 options at wide receiver, while tight end Cameron Brate also figures to play a role in the passing game.

Shorts (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers.
EDGE Analysis
Shorts has been sidelined since Week 2 due to a hamstring ailment, but that problem looks to be behind him given his increased activity level this week. If Shorts is indeed able to return Sunday, his matchup with the 49ers and teammate Vincent Jackson's (knee) absence could help him improve on his lone catch for 12 yards this season.

Shorts (hamstring) was a full participant in practice on Thursday, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shorts went from limited participation to full participation this week in practice, and now appears in line to play Sunday against the 49ers. With Vincent Jackson (knee) landing on injured reserve, Shorts could play a bigger role in Tampa Bay's offense. However, his hamstring aliment could leave him with highly monitored reps in Week 7, giving way to more offensive action for Donteea Dye.

Shorts (hamstring) could see an increased role in the wake of Vincent Jackson's knee injury and if so, he feels prepared for it, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports. "I think the biggest thing for me is making sure I know my assignment and do my job. That time I had when I was out [due to injury] was a good time to catch up and study a lot of stuff. So I'm kind of caught up from a gameplan standpoint, not necessarily the whole offense but the gameplan and what's going on. So I feel pretty confident out there."
EDGE Analysis
The veteran wideout has been sidelined since Week 2 with his hamstring injury, which ironically, occurred on his first catch in a Bucs uniform. The 28-year-old has played both inside and outside in his five NFL seasons, so he presents as the most adequate candidate overall in terms of experience and skill set to take on a lot of Jackson's routes. With the time off apparently having given Shorts an opportunity further acclimate to his responsibilities within the team's offensive system, he could be in line for a decent amount of targets against a questionable 49ers secondary in Week 7 if he's able to go.

Shorts (hamstring) was limited at the Buccaneers' practice Wednesday, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shorts has recorded one catch for 12 years on the season. The reception occurred in Week 2, but he has been sidelined with a hamstring injury ever since. His status heading into Week 7 is up in the air at this point.

Shorts (hamstring) returned to practice Monday, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shorts hasn't featured since injuring his hamstring in Week 2. While the time off since then, which included Tampa Bay's bye last week, allowed Shorts to return Monday, the veteran's fantasy value remains pretty low as the fourth or fifth receiver in the Bucs' offense.
