Williams (concussion) was placed on injured reserve Friday, Andrew Walker of the Colts' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams suffered the concussion in last Thursday night's game against the Broncos, and he would later have to be emitted to the local hospital. To no surprise, the Colts will exercise caution with the tight end and shut him down for the rest of the season. Williams was primarily used on special teams this season.

Williams (concussion) was held out of practice Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Williams was stretchered off the field with the concussion in the Week 15 loss to the Broncos and has a history of spinal issues dating back to his college days, so his absence from the first practice of the week isn't surprising. Unless the Colts indicate in the coming days that Williams' condition has dramatically improved, don't count on him playing again in 2017.

Williams has checked out of the hospital and returned to Lucas Oil Stadium after suffering a concussion, Andrew Walker of the Colts' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Head coach Chuck Pagano added that Williams is doing well, which is great news considering how severe the injury looked at first. With the Colts well out of playoff contention and Williams having a history of spinal injuries, it would not be at all surprising to see the team be extremely cautious with the tight end for the rest of the season.

Williams is out for the rest of Thursday's game against the Broncos due to a head injury, Andrew Walker of the Colts' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams left on a stretcher in the first half in what was a very scary scene. Thankfully, the tight end has movement in his limbs and the Colts are describing the injury has a head injury, with no reported damage to the neck according to Zach Keefer of the Indianapolis Star. This is important, as Williams has a preexisting spinal condition that cost him his collegiate career at the University of Oregon.

Williams is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Steelers with a right thumb injury, George Bremer of The Anderson Herald Bulletin reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams has seen an increase in usage this season, with nine receptions for 102 yards. However, he hasn't been targeted in the red zone, making it difficult to give him much fantasy consideration, especially behind Jack Doyle. Expect Darell Daniels to see an increase in offensive snaps until Williams can return.

Williams had two receptions for 20 yards on two targets in Sunday's win at Houston.
EDGE Analysis
Williams has 11 targets in nine games, as he has a minor role in a struggling passing game. He won't be a viable player in most fantasy leagues unless Jack Doyle misses time.
