Powell rushed 10 times for 30 yards and brought in one of two targets for six yards in Sunday's 15-10 loss to the Buccaneers. He also lost a fumble.

EDGE Analysis

Powell appeared primed for significant volume with Matt Forte (knee) sidelined, but his afternoon could largely be classified as a fantasy dud. The 29-year-old tailback's rushing yardage total mostly consisted of a game-long 21-yard scamper, while his production in the passing game was virtually non-existent. Rookie Elijah McGuire actually outpaced Powell in total touches by a 12-11 margin and 58 to 36 in total yards. Forte could well be back for a Week 12 tilt against the Panthers after the Jets' bye week, but if the veteran isn't quite ready to suit up, a 50/50 workload split between Powell and McGuire in that contest is certainly conceivable.

With Matt Forte (knee) ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bucs, Powell is in line to head the Jets' Week 10 backfield, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Meanwhile, Elijah McGuire is slated to see an increased role this weekend as the Jets' No. 2 running back. With Forte, who led the Jets with 14 carries for 77 yards in Week 9, not in the mix, Powell looks like a viable lineup option Sunday, especially considering that he won't be competing with Forte for pass-catching duties out of the Jets' backfield.

Powell rushed nine times for 74 yards in Thursday's 34-21 win over the Bills.

EDGE Analysis

Powell was the ideal complement to lead back Matt Forte, nearly matching the latter's 77-yard rushing total despite seeing five fewer carries. The 8.2 yards that Powell averaged per tote was a welcome sight after he'd been stonewalled to the tune of 2.4 yards per carry against the Falcons in Week 8. The 29-year-old was also held without a catch for the first time in five contests and third time overall on the season. While he played more of a change-of-pace role Thursday, it remains difficult to gauge what exact share of the rushing touches Powell will garner week-to-week, keeping his fantasy owners guessing. He'll look to put together another strong outing against the Buccaneers in Week 10.

Powell rushed 14 times for 33 yards and secured all three of his targets for 28 yards in Sunday's 25-20 loss to the Falcons.

EDGE Analysis

Powell notably saw 17 total touches to Matt Forte's 10, but neither back could get anything going on the ground. However, Powell did find some success in the passing game, and he now has at least three receptions in three of his past four contests. Despite the boost in volume Sunday, the 29-year-old's fantasy prospects remain difficult to gauge, considering his timeshare with Forte and the cap that places on his upside. He'll look to up his production versus a tough Bills defense in a Week 9 Thursday night matchup.

Powell ran for 43 yards on nine rushes and had two catches for 40 yards in Sunday's 31-28 loss to Miami.

EDGE Analysis

Powell's afternoon featured a catch of 31 yards and a run of 25, accounting for over two-thirds of his total action. The veteran back flashed big in Matt Forte's absence a few weeks ago with a 190-yard day against the Jaguars, but seems like he's back in a supporting role with 17 touches to Forte's 29 over the past two weeks. Look for Eljah McGuire to further eat into Powell's workload.

Jets head coach Todd Bowles said Powell (calf) would play Sunday against the Dolphins after the running back was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

During the portion of practice earlier Thursday that was made available to the media, Powell was spotted working out on the side, which was expected to result in him going down as a limited or nonparticipant when the Jets released their practice report. However, Powell apparently was involved in all of the Jets' drills behind closed doors and looked healthy enough for the coaching staff to sign off on his return to action well in advance of Sunday's game against the Dolphins. With one of Powell or fellow veteran back Matt Forte missing each of the Jets' last three contests, Elijah McGuire has noticed an elevated role in the backfield, but the rookie could see his snap count take a significant hit Sunday with both Powell and Forte set to be available. In the first three weeks of the season when both were active, Powell averaged 11 touches per game to Forte's 9.6, and a similar distribution could be in place in Week 7.

Powell (calf) did not practice Wednesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Powell sported a helmet and was warming up at Wednesday's practice, but ultimately wasn't able to participate. His status for Sunday's game against the Dolphins is thus cloudy, with the combo of Matt Forte and Elijah McGuire on hand to handle to Jets' rushing duties in Week 7 if Powell is unable to gain clearance to play this weekend.

Powell (calf) had a helmet on and was warming up at Wednesday's practice, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

We'll have to see how the Jets classify his level of participation, but Powell's presence on the field Wednesday is a step in the right direction for the running back, who was inactive this past Sunday against the Patriots. In Powell's absence, Matt Forte and Elijah McGuire headed the Jets' Week 6 rushing attack, combining for 19 carries for 44 yards on the ground, with Forte chipping in eight catches for 59 yards in the Jets' 24-17 loss.

Powell (calf) is listed as inactive for Sunday's matchup against the Patriots.

EDGE Analysis

Powell did not see the practice field all week, and wasn't expected to suit up despite being given a "questionable" designation. He'll now give way to a combination of Matt Forte -- who is returning from a toe injury this week -- and Elijah McGuire, who led the Jets backfield with 36 snaps after Powell went down in Week 5. This duo stands to benefit from a favorable matchup against the Patriots, who lead the league in fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs in both regular and PPR scoring.

Powell (calf) is not expected to play Sunday against the Patriots, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

EDGE Analysis

Powell is listed as questionable on the official injury report and did not practice Friday. However, this report isn't official so fantasy owners will need to confirm he's inactive before game time. The Jets' Week 6 backfield will be bolstered by the slated return to action of Matt Forte, who practiced fully Friday.
