Mozgov will come off the bench for Tuesday's tilt with the Celtics, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.

EDGE Analysis

The Nets will go with a smaller lineup to start Tuesday's contest against the red-hot Celtics, as Trevor Booker gets the start at center. Mozgov could see a decrease from his 15.7 minutes average this season given the move to the bench and the return of Jarrett Allen, who missed the last six games with a left foot strain.

Mozgov supplied five points (2-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds and one block across 16 minutes in Friday's 124-112 loss to the Lakers.

EDGE Analysis

Mozgov continues to see a modest allotment of playing time, as Friday's game marked his eighth game with less than 20 minutes over his first nine contests. The 31-year-old big man provided his typical production against his old squad, as he's averaging 4.8 points and 5.1 rebounds on the season. Given his abbreviated role, Mozgov's fantasy utility remains strictly limited to very deep formats.

Mozgov produced five points (2-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt), eight rebounds and four turnovers across 16 minutes during Thursday's 107-88 victory over the Nets.

EDGE Analysis

Mozgov struggled to hang onto the ball Thursday, committing four turnovers in 16 minutes of action. He did hit a three, however, which he was reportedly practicing during training camp. He'll likely begin the season as the team's starting center, though he mainly has value as a rebounder and could get pulled early and often if he continues to struggle.

Mozgov and D'Angelo Russell will be traded to the Nets in exchange for Brook Lopez and the 27th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.

EDGE Analysis

With the Lakers attempting to get a better look at some of their younger prospects, Mozgov was shut down during the second half of the 2016-17 campaign. That limited him to just 54 games, for which he averaged 7.4 points and 4.9 rebounds over 20.4 minutes. While the move to Brooklyn offers the chance at a fresh start, he's not necessarily guaranteed a huge role, as the Nets essentially took on his contract in an effort to secure the younger and higher upside player in D'Angelo Russell. That said, with Lopez heading to Los Angeles, the Nets currently have just Quincy Acy, Justin Hamilton and Trevor Booker as bigger frontcourt players, so barring any splashy free agent pick-ups in July, Mozgov should at least be a rotation player in Brooklyn.

Mozgov suffered a left ankle sprain during Wednesday's practice.

EDGE Analysis

Mozgov could miss some extra practice time throughout the week, but he's already expected to miss the rest of the season while the Lakers get some younger guys more time, so he's firmly off the radar in fantasy leagues whether he's healthy or not. He'll likely undergo treatment over the next few days, although no timetable for a return was given. Ivica Zubac should continue to work as the team's top center, with Tarik Black coming in as relief.

Mozgov is unlikely to play for the remainder of the season, Marc J. Spears of ESPN reports.

EDGE Analysis

Mozgov has seen the floor in only two of the Lakers past 14 outings, so the fact that he'll likely be shut down for the remainder of the season doesn't come as much of a surprise at this point. The Lakers would seemingly rather get a look at their young guys -- Ivica Zubac and Tarik Black -- at the center slot for the remainder of the season, as the Lakers have no chance to make the playoffs. It's unclear whether or not he'll still practice with the team, but his fantasy value is about as close to none as it can be with this news coming down the pipeline.

Mozgov (coach's decision) failed to see the floor in a 122-111 loss to the Mavericks.

EDGE Analysis

After being held out of the rotation in eight of nine games, Mozgov slotted in as the second-unit center in Sunday's loss to the Pelicans, producing eight points, five rebounds, one assist and one block in 15 minutes. He was only included in the rotation for that contest because Ivica Zubac (quad) was unavailable, but with the rookie cleared to suit up Tuesday, Mozgov didn't leave the bench. So long as Zubac and starting center Tarik Black stay healthy the rest of the way, there won't be many opportunities for Mozgov to play. The 30-year-old is already looking like a bad investment for the Lakers after signing a four-year, $64 million contract last summer.

Mozgov will move to the bench Monday against the Knicks, Bill Oram of the Orange County Register reports.

EDGE Analysis

The Lakers will shake things up Monday, as both Mozgov and Luol Deng will come off the bench. Tarik Black will get the nod at center, with Julius Randle and Brandon Ingram at the two forward spots. Mozgov has started all 52 games in which he's played this season, and at this point it's unclear if the shift to the bench will be permanent. It's likely that coach Luke Walton is simply looking for something to spark the Lakers, who have dropped 10 of their last 12 contests heading into Monday.

Mozgov went for nine points (4-9 FG, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block over 17 minutes in Thursday's 96-88 loss to the Jazz.

EDGE Analysis

Mozgov is being pushed by emerging rookie Ivica Zubac, who's outpaced him in playing time the last two games, providing consecutive double-doubles in the process. However, the veteran center was impressive in his own right Thursday relative to his modest playing time. The scoring total was Mozgov's best since Jan. 8 versus the Magic, and he's now hauled in between eight and 11 rebounds in three of the last four contests. However, the 30-year-old's minutes often max out in the low 20s, and given Zubac's recent play, that figure could be even more limited for the foreseeable future, even if Mozgov holds on to his spot on the first unit.

Mozgov tallied 15 points (7-7 FG, 1-1 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and one steal in 30 minutes during Sunday's 111-95 win over the Magic.

EDGE Analysis

Mozgov had a perfect shooting performance on his way to just his 16th double-digit game of the season. The 30-year-old just nearly missed out on his second double-double of the season. Mozgov is averaging 8.2 points and 4.9 rebounds in 21.7 minutes per game this season as his role continues to be dependent on matchups.
