Hawes will pick up the player-option for his 2017-18 contract, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reports.

EDGE Analysis

Hawes will make $6 million in the final year of his deal. The veteran averaged 4.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 0.5 triples across 9.0 minutes per game as a fringe-rotational player after being traded to Milwaukee in February. The Bucks drafted stretch-four D.J. Wilson out of Michigan with their first pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, and he projects to play a similar role with the club as Hawes. Thus, he will presumably have a hard time getting much regular rotation run in the upcoming season.

Hawes recorded 15 points (5-7 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five rebounds and two assists across 17 minutes in Wednesday's 112-94 loss to the Celtics.

EDGE Analysis

After being inactive for Monday's game against Charlotte to make room for John Henson returning from a thumb injury, Hawes returned to the Bucks lineup with several of the Bucks' normal rotation players resting before the playoffs against the Celtics. The well-traveled big man was lethal from the field in limited minutes, and finished with his highest scoring game in over a month.

Hawes won't play in Monday's game against the Hornets, C.F. Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

EDGE Analysis

John Henson (thumb) will be making his return to the lineup after missing the last 10 games, so the Bucks want to get him plenty of minutes to get back in game shape before the playoffs. That leaves Hawes on the outside looking in to the regular rotation, so he'll essentially be held out for rest Monday. It wouldn't be surprising if Hawes didn't see the floor in Wednesday's regular season finale against the Celtics either.

Hawes posted 10 points (3-4 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT) with three rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots over 18 minutes in Wednesday's 116-98 win against the Bucks.

EDGE Analysis

Hawes totaled 30 minutes over his past nine games with three DNP-CDs, so don't get overly excited about this performance. It's a start, but he has a long way to go before he can be trusted by fantasy owners outside of the deepest leagues.

Hawes scored 16 points (6-7 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT) while adding eight rebounds, an assist and a block in 17 minutes off the bench during Saturday's 101-94 win over the Raptors.

EDGE Analysis

After not seeing the court at all in his first 11 games as a Buck, Hawes played just three minutes Friday but was surprisingly the first man off the bench for coach Jason Kidd on Saturday, and the veteran stretch four responded with one of his best performances of the season. It's impossible to predict what his role in Milwaukee's rotation will be going forward, but the team's next game is against the lowly 76ers and their depleted frontcourt Monday, so if Hawes does see even a handful of minutes he could be productive once again.

Hawes (coach's decision) didn't see the floor in a 100-96 win over the Suns on Sunday.

EDGE Analysis

Hawes has yet to make his Bucks debut since being acquired from the Hornets on Feb. 2, and it doesn't appear coach Jason Kidd is eager to integrate the 7-foot-1 big man into the rotation at any point in the near future. Even after the Bucks were able to deal Roy Hibbert away to the Nuggets last week, the team still has a logjam at center, and that's left Hawes and John Henson on the outside looking in.

Coach Jason Kidd said that Hawes isn't expected to play Friday against the Nuggets or Saturday against the Suns, Charles F. Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

EDGE Analysis

Hawes and fellow center Roy Hibbert, who were both acquired Thursday from the Hornets in exchange for Miles Plumlee, still need to pass their physicals and aren't expected to join the Bucks in Phoenix until Saturday, and it seems Kidd is reluctant to use either player before they have an opportunity to practice with the team. Even without the services of Hibbert and Hawes the next two games, the Bucks won't be short on center help with John Henson, Greg Monroe and Thon Maker still populating the depth chart. It may take several games for Kidd's center rotation to crystallize, but Hawes seemingly has a better chance of becoming a rotation option than Hibbert, who has an expering contract and a skill set that overlaps a bit with Henson. Hawes, meanwhile, has demonstrated some effectiveness as an outside shooter throughout his career, an attribute that could earn him minutes on a Bucks roster that's short on floor spacers.

Hawes and fellow center Roy Hibbert will be traded to the Bucks on Thursday, in exchange for Miles Plumlee, C.F. Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

EDGE Analysis

Hawes had recently seen a bigger role with the Hornets, as Cody Zeller was dealing with a quad injury and missed the last five games. However, when Zeller was healthy, he was usually off the fantasy radar, as he'd been averaging 7.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists across just 17.9 minutes per game this season. His move to the Bucks certainly won't help his value, as Hawes will be joining a center rotation that's even more crowded than what he saw in Charlotte. The Bucks already have Greg Monroe and John Henson, while Roy Hibbert is also coming over in the trade, so Hawes at best will be in a timeshare with a group of the aforementioned players. That said, it's still a situation to monitor over the next few games in order to see how the regular rotation shakes out.

Hawes will draw the start at center in Wednesday's matchup against the Warriors.

EDGE Analysis

Hawes will replace Roy Hibbert at center. The decision by coach Steve Clifford is likely matchup based. Hawes was impressive in the team's loss to the Warriors on Jan. 25, posting ten points, 13 rebounds, five assists, a block and a triple in 29 minutes. He presumably see another healthy workload Wednesday.

Hawes finished with 10 points (4-13 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT) with 13 rebounds, five assists and a blocked shots over 29 minutes in Wednesday's 113-103 loss against the Warriors.

EDGE Analysis

Hawes saw his most extensive playing time since Nov. 21, when he rolled up a season-high 37 minutes. He played added minutes with Cody Zeller (quadriceps) on the shelf. If Zeller remains sidelined Hawes will have some decent short-term fantasy appeal, especially if you're searching for low-cost values in DFS.
