Cole has signed a one-year contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv of the Euroleague, international writer David Pick reports.

EDGE Analysis

Cole opened the 2016-17 campaign playing in the Chinese Basketball Association, but following the completion of that season, he ended up joining the Thunder for the final month of their schedule. He took part in just 13 games, posting averages of 3.3 points and 1.1 assists across 9.6 minutes. Once again, Cole struggled to field interest during free agency this offseason and will now head to Maccabi Tel Aviv. That said, there's a chance he ends up coming back to the States following the completion of their season once again, so it wouldn't be surprising if he ultimately attempted to latch on with a contender in February.

Cole (coach's decision) didn't see the floor in a 122-104 win over the Nets on Tuesday.

EDGE Analysis

After he was signed for the rest of the season earlier in March, Cole was expected to buoy the second unit when Russell Westbrook was resting on the bench, but those hopes haven't materialized. Cole shot just 30 percent from the floor over his first four games with the team, prompting coach Billy Donovan to turn the backup point guard duties over to Semaj Christon. With Cole now being held out of the rotation for three straight games, it appears that Christon has solidified himself as the No. 2 point guard for the time being.

Cole registered seven points (2-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two assists, one rebound and one steal over 11 minutes in Thursday's 114-109 loss to the Trail Blazers.

EDGE Analysis

Just signed on Tuesday for the rest of the season, Cole made his presence felt over his relatively brief time on the court. The 28-year-old guard could serve as a viable source of offensive production on the second unit and give Russell Westbrook some down time in the season's stretch run. Cole averaged a career-best 10.6 points, 3.7 assists and 3.4 rebounds across a high-water mark of 26.6 minutes in 45 games with the Pelicans last season.

Cole agreed to a deal with Thunder for the remainder of the season, Shams Charania of The Vertical reports.

EDGE Analysis

After spending some time with the Chinese Basketball Association, Cole returns to the NBA and could play a significant role off the bench behind starter Russell Westbrook. Cole will replace Cameron Payne, who was sent packing last week at the trade deadline along with Anthony Morrow and Joffrey Lauvergne. As he gets accustomed to his new home he will compete with rookie Semaj Christon for minutes, but seems poised to take over as the No. 2 option at point guard once he settles in. The 28-year-old ended last season with the Pelicans by missing 19 straight games due to back spasms, but before that he averaged 10.6 points, 3.7 assists, and 3.4 rebounds in just under 27 minutes a contest across 45 games.

Cole signed a one-year contract Wednesday with the Shandong Golden Stars of the Chinese Basketball Association, international basketball writer David Pick reports.

EDGE Analysis

After posting career-high averages in a number of categories last season with the Pelicans, including points per game (10.6), assists per game (3.7) and minutes per game (26.6), Cole was unable to attract much interest from NBA teams in free agency. It probably didn't help matters that the 27-year-old had dealt with back problems for a good chunk of the second half of last season, as he ended up suiting up in 45 total games. He'll look to rehabilitate his value in China, but reportedly has an out clause in his contract with Shandong that will allow him to head back to the NBA if an opportunity arises.

Cole (back) will miss Wednesday's season finale against the Timberwolves, ESPN.com's Justin Verrier reports.

EDGE Analysis

Cole wasn't officially ruled out for the season due to his ongoing bout with back spasms, but with 19 consecutive absences heading into Wednesday, he was never expected to return. The veteran point guard is set to become a free agent this offseason, and it's uncertain if the Pelicans are interested in bringing him back, especially if Jrue Holiday (eye) and Tyreke Evans (knee) both enter the coming season at full health. Cole was at least a dependable rotation player when called upon this season for the injury-plagued Pelicans, averaging a career-high 10.6 points (on 40.5% shooting from the field) to go along with 3.7 assists, 3.4 rebounds, 0.8 steals, and 0.7 three-pointers across 26.6 minutes in his 45 appearances.

Cole (back) will remain out for Monday's game against the Bulls, Justin Verrier of ESPN reports.

EDGE Analysis

As expected, Cole has not been cleared to return Monday, and at this point with only one more game remaining, the point guard's season is likely over. In his absence, Toney Douglas and Tim Frazier will continue to see increased roles.

Cole (back) is listed as questionable for Friday's tilt with the Lakers, Brett Dawson of the New Orleans Advocate reports.

EDGE Analysis

The Pelicans continue to list Cole as questionable in advance of every game, despite coach Alvin Gentry's acknowledged that the point guard will likely be shut down for the season. There's been little to indicate Cole is showing enough improvement with his back to play Friday, so expect the status quo to remain in place here.

Cole (back) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the 76ers, Brett Dawson of the New Orleans Advocate reports.

EDGE Analysis

We're taking this with a major grain of salt, as there's been no indication that Cole has resumed practicing yet. Coach Alvin Gentry acknowledged that it's likely Cole will miss the rest of the season, so it's probably not worthwhile to hold the point guard in any yearly leagues.

Cole (back) remains without a return timetable, Brett Dawson of the New Orleans Advocate reports.

EDGE Analysis

Cole has missed the last 12 game with nagging soreness in his back, and coach Alvin Gentry admitted Saturday that it's becoming "more and more unlikely" that both Cole and Ryan Anderson (hernia) will play again this season. Gentry stopped short of ruling Cole out, however, so continue to consider the point guard day-to-day until the team says otherwise. New Orleans is off Saturday before taking on the Nets in Brooklyn on Sunday afternoon.
