Batum registered 26 points (8-12 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 9-10 FT), six assists, three rebounds and three steals across 33 minutes in Saturday's 106-105 loss to the Heat.

EDGE Analysis

The veteran two-guard's scoring total didn't only pace the Hornets on the night, but it also served as a season high. Batum has now shot 66.7 percent in two contests during January, eclipsing the 20-point mark in both. Batum typically takes a back set on offense to backcourt mate Kemba Walker, but as he demonstrated Saturday, he can certainly light up the scoreboard when he gets the hot hand. Factoring in Saturday's line, Batum has now posted five straight double-digit scoring efforts while also dishing out at least five assists in three of those games.

Batum tallied 21 points (8-12 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds and four assists across 31 minutes in Tuesday's 131-111 win over the Kings.

EDGE Analysis

Batum led what was a balanced offensive attack in which all five Hornets starters and three reserves hit double digits in the scoring column. It was only the veteran two-guard's second 20-point effort in the last 16 games, but his third game in the last six with at least 60.0 percent shooting. Batum's most consistent contributions continue to come in the area of rebounds and assists, as he's seen nearly a five-point drop in scoring average (15.1 to 10.2) compared to last season.

Batum managed 14 points (5-7 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six assists and one rebound across 32 minutes in Friday's 109-104 loss to the Bucks.

EDGE Analysis

Batum provided a nice return thanks to some near-perfect shooting and bounced back from a scoreless effort against the Raptors in his last contest on Wednesday. The 10-year veteran is still looking to hit his stride on offense, as he's posted five single-digit scoring efforts in December overall in addition to the aforementioned blanking. However, Batum's usage could be in for an uptick in the immediate future if backcourt mate Kemba Walker (head) is unable to suit up for Saturday's rematch against Milwaukee.

Batum recorded zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt), five assists and two rebounds across 26 minutes during a 129-111 loss to the Raptors on Wednesday.

EDGE Analysis

Batum put forth his first scoreless game of the season in the blowout loss, a bizarre effort in which he attempted only one field goal across 26 minutes. On the bright side, he did manage five assists. Batum hasn't been great recently, as he's scored nine points or fewer in six of his last seven outings.

Batum scored 23 points (9-17 FG, 5-9 3PT) to go with four rebounds and five assists across 37 minutes in Saturday's 93-91 loss to Portland.

EDGE Analysis

After scoring in the single-digits in four straight games, Batum exploded for a season-high 23 points against Portland. The Charlotte forward was deadly efficient from long range, sinking a season-high five three-pointers on nine attempts. While his breakout performance from beyond the arc was impressive, expectations should be tempered as Batum is still a 26.9 percent three-point shooter on the season. Batum will look to build upon his offensive momentum when Portland takes on New York on Monday.

Batum (elbow) will start at shooting guard for Wednesday's matchup with the Rockets, Tim MacMahon of ESPN reports.

EDGE Analysis

Batum was held out of Monday's contest with some lingering elbow soreness, but will rejoin the lineup Wednesday and take on his normal starter's role. The Hornets aren't reporting any restrictions, so as long as Batum doesn't suffer any in-game setbacks, he should be good for a full workload. With Batum back, Jeremy Lamb should head back to the bench and see decreased minutes.

Batum (elbow) has been upgraded to probable for Wednesday's game against the Rockets.

EDGE Analysis

Batum was originally listed as doubtful heading into the contest, but is seemingly feeling less pain than anticipated after morning shootaround. He did play just 19 minutes in his last appearance, however, after experiencing pain mid-game. So, the situation overall still makes him a risky DFS option, even if he's cleared to take the floor. Jeremy Lamb would likely see a dip in workload if Batum plays.

Batum (elbow) is doubtful for Wednesday's matchup against the Rockets, Rick Bonnell of The Charlotte Observer reports.

EDGE Analysis

Batum began experiencing soreness in his left elbow over the weekend, which ultimately caused him to miss Monday's game after playing just 19 minutes Saturday. He'll seemingly be re-evaluated come Wednesday morning shootaround, though it's unlikely he'll be cleared. Assuming he's sidelined, Jeremy Lamb would probably be the main beneficiary.

Batum (elbow) will not play Monday against the Thunder.

EDGE Analysis

Batum began experiencing soreness in his left elbow over the weekend, though he was ultimately cleared to play Saturday against the Lakers. The veteran was limited to only 19 minutes, however, and the Hornets will now hold him out entirely in an effort to prevent the elbow issue from worsening. Jeremy Lamb (shin) has been cleared to play, so he's the top candidate to start in place of Batum.

Batum (elbow) is considered questionable for Monday's matchup with the Thunder, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.

EDGE Analysis

Batum was also questionable for Saturday's contest, but was ultimately cleared to play, though he only saw 19 minutes of action. It appears the Hornets are trying to limit the strain on Batum's elbow and there's certainly a chance they keep him out entirely of Monday's matchup with the Thunder. Look for another update after morning shootaround, but if Batum and Jeremy Lamb (shin) can't play, Dwayne Bacon and Malik Monk would likely take on elevated roles at shooting guard.
