Coach Dwane Casey said after Monday's preseason game that Kyle Lowry's strained adductor (groin) injury isn't a big deal and that he's being held out for precautionary reasons. "I'm sure if we had a playoff game coming up tomorrow night, he'd be able to go," Casey said. "It's nothing serious, it's more precautionary than anything else. I want him Oct. 31 more than right now." While all of this is good news, the fact the injury is still hanging around after ruining Lowry's season last year is a red flag. His preseason (when he is supposed to be figuring things out for a new team) is in jeopardy and back up point guard John Lucas played very well behind starter Jose Calderon last night. Lowry is still our favorite point guard in Toronto, but there are some obvious concerns about him being able to make it through the season in one piece.

Point guard Kyle Lowry won't play in any of the Raptors' three preseason games this week as he rehabs a strained adductor muscle (thigh). That sounds like more than a "sore leg" to us and it's a bit of a bummer for one of the league's most exciting fantasy point guards. We can simply hope the injury goes away by the start of the real games and that Lowry will be able to put in a full season of work. If the injury does linger, Jose Calderon is going to be back in the spotlight for the Raps.

Kyle Lowry (leg) and Jonas Valanciunas (calf) are not expected to play in Monday's preseason opener against Real Madrid. Lowry is being held out for precautionary reasons, although if his leg is sore enough to keep him out of this game, it should at least be considered a concern. Valanciunas has missed a lot of time with a calf injury and at some point we'll be officially concerned if he's not playing by next week.

Kyle Lowry and Jonas Valanciunas missed Saturday's intrasquad game for the Raptors. Lowry was out for precautionary reasons with soreness in his left leg, while Valanciunas has been dealing with a calf injury for some time now. If Lowry can stay healthy this season, he's expected to start over Jose Calderon and should be a solid No. 1 fantasy point guard.

Kyle Lowry said that he wants to come "the head of the snake" for the Raptors. Lowry expressed his desire to play a leadership role for his new team, saying, "I definitely feel like I am the leader, I am a leader that can push my teammates and get after it and I think guys will follow me." The Raptors brought in Lowry to set the tone, and we fully expect him to do exactly that. After a tumultuous season with Kevin McHale in Houston last year, Lowry and his new coach, Dwane Casey, are on the same page going into the season.

The NBA has officially approved the trade sending Kyle Lowry to the Raptors in exchange for Gary Forbes and a future first-round pick. We're still waiting to see whether the Raptors trade Jose Calderon (and his expiring contract), but either way Lowry is likely to start at PG and play heavy minutes. In 38 starts for Houston last year, he averaged 15.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 7.2 assists and 1.8 steals in 35.5 minutes. The Raptors have an intriguing roster and a wealth of young talent, including rookies Terrence Ross and Jonas Valanciunas, and Lowry seems like an excellent veteran fit on the roster.

The Rockets are on the verge of trading PG Kyle Lowry to the Raptors for a deal that will include a future lottery pick, according ESPN's Marc Stein. Lowry was a bit of a fantasy beast last season, averaging 15 points, seven assists, five rebounds, two steals and two 3-pointers per game prior to the All-Star break, but saw his season cut short by an abominal injury that included an infection that required surgery. It will be interesting to see what the Raptors do with incumbent PG Jose Calderon, but it looks like the Raptors plan on starting Lowry at this point, meaning he should be a popular early target in fantasy drafts.

The Raptors will continue to pursue Houston PG Kyle Lowry, regardless of whether or not they're able to land Steve Nash. It looks like Nash is likely heading to the Knicks so the Raptors may be ready to turn their focus to Lowry, who would likely replace Jose Calderon as the team's starting point guard. Lowry had a nice year for the Rockets and should continue to put up solid fantasy numbers if he's starting for the Raptors next year.

Kyle Lowry, who has been mentioned in several trade rumors, is "more open" to remaining with the Rockets. The Rockets will continue to shop Lowry as the team looks to move up in Thursday night's draft, and nobody should be surprised if and when the point guard is dealt elsewhere. However, it sounds like he's less intent on demanding a trade than he was a month ago when he said that he and coach Kevin McHale could not co-exist.

The Kings have reportedly rejected Houston's offer of Kyle Lowry and the 16th pick for the No. 5 pick and Chuck Hayes. The Rockets are desperately trying to move into the Top 5 for tomorrow night's draft, but have been unable to do so thus far.
