Richardson (knee) will not play in Friday's game against the Hornets, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Richardson will remain sidelined with the knee injury that has plagued him since early September. Dion Waiters and Tyler Johnson should both continue sharing the bulk of the minutes at the shooting guard spot until Richardson is ready to return to action.

Richardson (knee) is yet to take contact at practice and will not be available for the Heat's season opener Wednesday in Orlando, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Richardson said he's still dealing with some residual soreness in his right knee, but on a more positive note he said he's not experiencing any pain during movement. The guard is still without a firm timetable, and the Heat are unlikely to offer anything of the sort until he returns to taking full contact in practice. Until Richardson returns, Miami will be forced to lean more heavily on the combination of Dion Waiters, who is expected to start at shooting guard, and Tyler Johnson.

Richardson (knee) was unable to take contact at Sunday's practice, Manny Navarro of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
With just two days for further recovery until the Heat's season opener against the Magic on Wednesday, it appears highly unlikely Richardson is going to be cleared. Richardson is slated to miss at least a couple games at the start of the season, but we won't get an official ruling on his availability until Wednesday's morning shootaround. Dion Waiters is expected to open the season as the team's starting shooting guard, with Tyler Johnson backing him up, so look for those two to absorb the majority of the minutes there with Richardson likely out.

Richardson (knee) will not play in Friday's preseason game, Manny Navarro of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Richardson is still working his way back from his knee injury, and he is not ready for game action just yet. He has not been ruled out for the Heat's season opener, but is also considered unlikely to be ready by that time.

Richardson (knee) went through most of the non-contact work during Monday's practice, but is still unlikely to be available for the regular season opener, Manny Navarro of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Richardson is able to do nearly everything that doesn't involve contact, but considering he's yet to clear that contact hurdle, it's not surprising he's currently considered doubtful for the season opener. The Heat's first game of the regular season is Oct. 26 against the Magic, so there's still a good nine days for Richardson to make some additional progress. However, the most likely scenario is that Richardson starts the season on the sidelines, which would mean Tyler Johnson, Dion Waiters and Wayne Ellington would see the majority of the minutes at shooting guard.

Richardson (knee) resumed shooting on the court Tuesday, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. "I got on the court some, just some jump shots," Richardson said. "It felt fine. Slow stuff."
EDGE Analysis
Richardson suffered a partial MCL tear to his right knee Sept. 9, when he was attempting a dunk during a workout. The Heat handed down a six-to-eight week recovery timetable shortly thereafter, but with Richardson still not fully healthy, it looks like he's aiming to hit the long end of that timetable. It seems unlikely that Richardson will see any time during the preseason, but he remains optimistic that he'll be on the court for the Oct. 26 regular-season opener against the Magic. The Heat don't want to rush things with Richardson, who submitted a promising rookie season, so it wouldn't be surprising if he was limited for the first few contests of 2016-17. Tyler Johnson, Dion Waiters and Wayne Ellington will absorb all the minutes at shooting guard for as long as Richardson is sidelined.

Richardson (knee) will not play in Tuesday's preseason matchup with the Nets, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Richardson has struggled to progress through his rehab during the preseason schedule and has yet to make his debut, as he continues to work back from a partially torn MCL. It remains unclear if he'll be available by the time the regular season opener approaches, which would mean Dion Waiters and Tyler Johnson would see the bulk of the work at shooting guard. With that said, once he's healthy, he should push for time as a regular rotation member in the Heat's backcourt.

Richardson (knee) did not practice Thursday, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Richardson suffered a partially torn MCL during the offseason, but was able to shed his knee brace at the end of September. However, he's still struggling to make progress in his rehab and his status for the regular season opener appears to be in question. He was unable to practice on Thursday and remains without any sort of timetable for a return. Once available, Richardson is expected to push for time at shooting guard, but will have to share minutes with the likes of Dion Waiters and Tyler Johnson.

Richardson (knee) is no longer wearing a brace, Shandel Richardson of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Richardson was diagnosed with a partially torn MCL less than three weeks ago but is already making tangible progress in his recovery. The young guard is expected to be able to participate in some on-court work during camp, though it's unclear if he'll be healthy enough to play in any of Miami's preseason contests, given the initial six-to-eight-week timetable.

Richardson (leg) will not require surgery on his partially torn right MCL, Ira Winderman of South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
After receiving the diagnosis Friday of the torn ligament in his knee, the 22-year-old got a dose of good news that he will avoid going under the knife. He will, however, have to avoid bearing weight on the injured area for at least two weeks. The current timetable for the second-year guard is currently sitting at 6-8 weeks.
