Hill was waived by the Timberwolves on Monday, Jon Krawczynski of the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hill's contract was non-guaranteed for next season if he was waived before the end of June, so the move isn't all that unexpected, especially after the Wolves acquired Jimmy Butler via trade on draft night. With Butler in tow and under contract for two more seasons, the Wolves are expected to ramp up their efforts to return to the postseason, which means clearing as much cap space as possible to pursue impact free agents this offseason. The 29-year-old Hill appeared in only seven games for the Wolves in 2016-17 after falling out of favor with coach Tom Thibodeau early in the year.

Hill (coach's decision) didn't see the floor in a 100-93 loss to the Spurs on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The season-ending injury to Nemanja Bjelica (foot) doesn't look like it will open up a spot in the rotation for Hill, especially after the team addressed their lack of depth at forward by signing Omri Casspi. Hill has made just one appearance since Dec. 26, playing a sole minute in that contest.

Hill (coach's decision) failed to see the floor in a 116-108 loss to the Cavaliers on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Tom Thibodeau continues to trot out a tight eight- or nine-man rotation in most games, affording no opportunities of late for Hill to take the floor. The veteran big man's last appearance came Dec. 26 against the Hawks, meaning he's been stuck on the bench for the last 25 games.

Hill (coach's decision) didn't see the court in a 122-114 loss to the Spurs on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Hill was briefly included in the Timberwolves' bench rotation during a two-game stretch around Christmastime, but he's since dropped out of the bench mix. He hasn't played in any of the Wolves' last 11 games and has just five total appearances to his name on the season.

Hill scored four points with six rebounds in a season-high 19 minutes in Sunday's loss to Oklahoma City. "I just wanted to get a look at him," head coach Tom Thibodeau told the MInneapolis Star Tribune. "He played very well in the first half for his first time out. His offense and his rebounding is something I wanted to see and he's got experience against these guys, too."
EDGE Analysis
Hill played more minutes Sunday than the combined minutes he had played all season. Perhaps this will begin to get him regular playing time off the bench, but Thibodeau has given few minutes to his bench.

Hill (coach's decision) didn't play in Saturday's 115-102 loss to the Warriors.
EDGE Analysis
Hill has made just two appearances all season, with his last coming back on Nov. 5. With the Wolves frontcourt at full health, it doesn't look as though Hill will have an opportunity in the near future to break into coach Tom Thibodeau's rotation.

Hill scored four points with two rebounds in five minutes in Tuesday's win over Memphis.
EDGE Analysis
It was Hill's first playing time of the season after he didn't play the first two games due to a coach's decision. Hill isn't likely to get much time off the bench as one of the last reserves and only got minutes in Tuesday's game since it was a blowout win.

Hill (coach's decision) didn't see the floor in Saturday's 101-96 preseason win over the Heat.
EDGE Analysis
Timberwolves coach Tom Thibodeau rolled out a 10-man rotation Saturday that resembled his preferred setup for the regular season, so Hill's exclusion from that group isn't encouraging. With Nemanja Bjelica thriving during the preseason, it appears he's passed up Hill as the team's fourth big man.

Hill has agreed to a two-year deal with the Timberwolves, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The deal, rumored to be a two-year, $8 million deal, will add a viable center/forward to a young Timberwolves team lacking much in the way of a veteran presence. With Karl Anthony-Towns, Gorgui Dieng, Cole Aldrich and Kevin Garnett all able to play either the power forward or center position, this move will give the Timberwolves room to play around with the roster matchups in the frontcourt. With no timetable to return for Timberwolves center Nikola Pekovic, the Timberwolves might be buying insurance on Pekovic's damaged goods with the signings of Hill and Aldrich.

Hill isn't expected to re-sign with the Pacers this offseason, Pacers.com's Mark Montieth reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hill was one of the Pacers' best inside scoring presences in the early portion of the season, but his size limitations and lack of rim protection ultimately resulted in him surrendering court time to Myles Turner once the calendar flipped to 2016. Previous coach Frank Vogel ended up dropping Hill from the rotation entirely late in the regular season and during the postseason, so with his campaign ending with a whimper, there's little incentive for the 28-year-old to return to the Pacers. Hill will look to latch on with another team this summer, but may have to settle for only a one- or two-year deal, as he profiles best as a reserve player.
