Barea will not play in the Mavs' regular season finale Wednesday against the Grizzlies, the Dallas Morning News reports.

EDGE Analysis

The Mavs play in Memphis on Wednesday, and Barea will be one of several veterans taking the night off as Dallas heads into the offseason. Barea started and played 27 minutes in Tuesday's loss to Denver, and he'll likely be replaced in the lineup by Devin Harris. Harrison Barnes, Wes Matthews, and Dirk Nowitzki will join Barea in sitting out the finale.

Barea recorded 13 points (5-14 FG, 3-8 3Pt), nine assists, four rebounds and two steals across 27 minutes during a 109-91 loss to the Nuggets on Tuesday.

EDGE Analysis

Barea got the start with the team holding players out and fell just one assist shy of what would have been his first double-double of the season. It wasn't an efficient display, but over his career he has shown that he can put some numbers up when give a decent workload. Considering the team has nothing to play for in its final regular season game on Wednesday, Barea could see a similar workload in that one.

Barea will start at shooting guard for Tuesday's game against the Nuggets, Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

The Mavericks are opting to bring usual starter Wesley Matthews off the bench, although they could end up keeping Matthews off the floor entirely to give him some extra rest with just two games left in the season. That allows Barea to draw into the starting lineup and should potentially provide him the opportunity to see a bigger role overall. In five previous starts this season, Barea has averaged 17.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 5.6 assists across 34.5 minutes.

Barea will sit out Sunday's game against the Suns for rest, Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

The Mavericks are opting to rest both Barea and Harrison Barnes, in an effort to get their veterans a breather, while also getting a better look at some of the team's younger talent. Barea should be back for Tuesday's game against the Nuggets, but with Seth Curry (shoulder) also out, Yogi Ferrell should get the bulk of the work at point guard, with Devin Harris potentially seeing a few added minutes as well.

Barea is available to play in Wednesday's game against the Clippers, Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Barea was listed as questionable prior to Wednesday's contest due to the possibility that he could be rested on the second game of a back-to-back, but he will at the very least suit up for the contest. Given that rest was seen as an option, however, could mean that Barea plays limited minutes, if any at all, against the Clippers, making him a risky option Wednesday night.

Barea (rest) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's tilt against the Clippers, Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Barea was listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Kings for possible rest as well, but ended up playing 15 minutes. The Mavericks are officially out of playoff contention, so coach Rick Carlisle may opt to rest his veterans for any given game from here on out. If Barea is ultimately rested, look for Seth Curry and Yogi Ferrell to see the benefit of his absence.

Barea (rest) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Kings, Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

With the Mavericks now officially eliminated from playoff contention, it looks like coach Rick Carlisle is considering giving some of his veterans a breather, as Wesley Matthews has been ruled out for rest purposes, while Barea and Harrison Barnes could also join the swingman on the sideline. Barea has been a spark plug off the bench the last four games with averages of 12.0 points, 7.5 assists, 2.3 three-pointers and 1.5 rebounds in 23.5 minutes per contest, but he could end up surrendering more playing time to younger guards like Seth Curry (shoulder) and Yogi Ferrell over the final week a half of the season as the Mavericks turn their attention toward 2017-18.

Barea scored 17 points (7-11 FG, 3-4 3Pt) while adding six assists and two rebounds in 23 minutes off the bench during Sunday's 109-105 win over the Bucks.

EDGE Analysis

He's caught fire from three-point range over the last two contests, going 7-for-15 (46.7 percent) while averaging 15.0 points a game. Injuries have cost Barea over half of the season, but the 32-year-old is still capable of producing useful fantasy numbers now that he's healthy again.

Barea finished with eight points (4-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt) with 11 assists and two rebounds over 19 minutes in Wednesday's 121-118 loss against the Pelicans.

EDGE Analysis

It was a tremendous stat line considering the meager total of minutes. As long as Seth Curry remains healthy then Barea's playing time and fantasy ceiling is rather limited. He remains useful only in deeper fantasy leagues at this point.

Barea scored 10 points (3-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT) while adding eight assists, one rebound and one steal across 29 minutes in Monday's 92-91 loss to the Thunder.

EDGE Analysis

The 29 minutes is more of an outlier than anything has Barea has played under 20 minutes in seven of his last ten contests. Over that span, he's shooting just 38 percent from the floor, which doesn't warrant any extra minutes. The extra run Monday night was due to Seth Curry's (shoulder) absence, and when he returns, Barea will be bumped back down on the depth chart, making him hard to own in fantasy formats.
