Richardson has decided to retire from the NBA, Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Richardson inked a non-guaranteed deal with the Hawks last month due to the team's status as a contender, but after enduring some discomfort in his right knee over the past 4-to-5 days, an MRI revealed bone spurs in the knee. Considering he sat out the 2013-14 season due to injury and logged 52 games combined in the past three campaigns, yet another ailment was seemingly setting up the 34-year-old guard for another injury-plagued season, if he made the Hawks' roster at all. Known for the dunking prowess, Richardson will end his career No. 16 on the career three-pointers made list with 1,608, while providing 17.1 points (on 44 percent shooting), 5.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.9 threes, and 1.2 steals in 34 minutes per contest.

Richardson averaged 9.1 points (35% FG, 32% 3Pt, 77% FT), 1.6 three-pointers, 2.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 0.7 steals in 22 minutes per game for 19 regular season games in 2014-15. He is an unrestricted free agent this summer. After not playing basketball for two years due to a left knee injury, Richardson rejoined the 76ers in late February with a limited role. Heading into 2015-16, he'll need to stay healthy to earn a feature role on a team. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on where he ends up in free agency to better gauge his future production.

Richardson (knee) will not play against the Bucks on Monday, Keith Pompey of the Philly Inquirer reports. The veteran is experiencing soreness in his surgically repaired knee, so he'll be held out for the second time in five games. Richardson scored 17 and 19 points, respectively, in his last two games.

Richardson (rest) posted seven points (3-11 FG, 1-6 3Pt) to go with three rebounds and one assist in 23 minutes of action Sunday against the Knicks. Richardson has been sitting out occasionally due to rest, so it's not hard to imagine him missing a few more games down the stretch. Still, he's been fairly one-dimensional in fantasy this season, and his poor FG percentage puts him out of contention for ownership in all but 18-man leagues or deeper.

Richardson (rest) will play Sunday against the Knicks, Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Richardson skipped Saturday's contest as the first of back-to-back games for the 76ers. It appears missing the tilt allowed him to be available for Sunday's game, but Robert Covington will start at shooting guard again, so his minutes will likely be limited.

Richardson will be rested for Saturday's game against the Hornets, Keith Pompey of the Philly Inquirer reports. The veteran has rested periodically this season since returning from a major knee injury in February. He played only six minutes against Washington on Wednesday and is not much of a daily option, due in large part to his inconsistent role.

Richardson (knee) logged six minutes Wednesday against the Wizards and posted just one rebound. Richardson has been dealing with ailments over the past seasons, and this last month has been no exception. His fantasy value is limited, even on a weak Sixers squad.

Updating a previous note, Richardson (knee) has now been cleared to play Wednesday against the Wizards, Keith Pompey of the Philly Inquirer reports. Richardson's knee has been sore of the last few days, and he was initially ruled out with Jerami Grant penciled in as the starter. The team hasn't stated whether Richardson will enter the starting five, but he'll be available in some capacity for coach Brett Brown.

Richardson (knee) will remain out Wednesday against the Wizards, Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Richardson returned from major knee surgery earlier this season, and he's been battling routine soreness over the past week. The team will hold him out again Wednesday, meaning Robert Covington will likely remain in the starting lineup. Covington is averaging 15.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists while making eight threes over his last two games.

Richardson (knee) is slated to miss a few games, Keith Pompey of the Philly Inquirer reports. Richardson missed Sunday's game, and at this point it appears he's dealing with routine soreness following major knee surgery. The Sixers haven't handed down a timetable, but the veteran is likely to miss at least a couple of games, beginning Monday against the Lakers. Robert Covington will make another start in Richardson's place.
