Jason Kidd reportedly pushed for a power play in Brooklyn, demanding the role of overseeing the Nets, in addition to being head coach, and was denied. Kidd supposedly didn't want general manager Billy King to be fired, but did want to become his boss, despite having just one year of coaching experience. As a result of the failed power play, the Bucks asked for, and received, permission to talk to Kidd. Larry Drew is officially having a bad day, as he's currently the head coach in Milwaukee. This is a pretty bizarre story that came out of left field, and you have to think that Kidd may have done enough damage with the brass in Brooklyn to end the relationship.
